Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon

This review is for the Champions course. Great layout, very true target golf so it is fun and challenging. Unfortunately, the condition of the course was not good. Too many pot holes on the fairways. Sad!

So much fun. Great customer service. Always felt sincere and willing to help. Went out of their way to explain everything. I had never been on a golf course before.

Our son recently got married here. We could not be more satisfied with our experience. The wedding was outside the event hall over looking the pond on the golf course and the reception was in the event hall. The main dish was from outside catering, but the hor d' oeuvres/appetizers were provided by the venue and they were all great! The venue also provided the midnight snack of bacon wrapped hot dogs. Golf shop and marshalls need to do a better job with tee times and flow management. We had 5 separate golf groups all packed together. Never seen such bad tee time management before and it completely ruined our first experience here for our first time. You CANNOT have 5 minute separation in tee times. Can’t recommend.

If you like playing 9 holes in 3 hours and 10 minutes, losing balls in bunkers because they are filled with water, and a rake replacing a flag for one of the holes, this is the course for you! Those are all true - no joke. Had to leave after 9 as we couldn’t take it anymore. It would be a 1 star except the greens were decent.

However, my biggest concern during this experience was the sheer number of bunkers. Many fairways are practically unavoidable, leaving little room for error. A single mistake can easily land you in a bunker, which can negatively impact your rhythm and play later in the game. I really enjoyed my time staying here. The room was simple but very clean and comfortable. Everything was in good condition and met my expectations. The location is a big plus, with lots of nearby activities, restaurants, and stores. It made my stay more enjoyable and convenient. The area felt safe and peaceful, which is always important when traveling. I also found it very easy to walk around the neighborhood. Overall, it was a smooth and pleasant experience.

In from out of town. Dropped into the clubhouse to see if they could get me on. Set me up with a two-some on the Legends course. Had a great time. Challenging but fair course. Greens were in terrific shape. Course overall was in very nice shape. They are obviously doing some work on parts of the course, so there is machinery around, but it didn’t affect much. This is a challenging and tricky course if you've never played it before. A number of blind shots and elevation changes. My suggestion is if this is your first round, to try to book a foursome with one of the locals or and experienced partner who knows the track well enough to forecaddie a little bit. I'm giving 4 stars because although the course is well maintained and the staff provides excellent customer service, I cannot in good faith give a 5th star until they do something with traps... no sand...just traps... First time visitors. We were not provided with any direction on the start of our round. We played the Legends course. It needs attention. The few ball washers that were available had filthy water in them with no drying towels. The fairways were partially green but rough. Appears they may have sustained some damage from excess water. Greens were rough & no one appears to repair their ball marks. Doubt we will come back

Golf course was in poor condition. Bunkers filled with water. (I get it, it rained pretty hard) 90 degree rule sucked. Very hilly on the Champions Course. It's very similar to Goat Hill Park in Carlsbad. Probably not coming back, sorry.

We had a wedding event here, so I can only speak to the event area. The staff and DJ did an excellent job. The prime rib, open bar, and desserts were fantastic. The outside balcony area was large with pretty views. The dressing rooms were big. Plenty of parking. A great venue place for your special events. I was only able to take a few pics that didn't have people in it.
