In summary
Roosevelt Municipal Golf Course is praised for its beautiful setting within Griffith Park, offering stunning views, well-maintained greens, and a challenging layout with a mix of par 3s and 4s. The staff is generally seen as accommodating and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors report issues with slow pace of play due to crowded conditions and fivesome groups, and there are occasional complaints about customer service at check-in.

Solid golf course on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but any other day be ready to wait behind four fivesome’s with each group playing out of one bag. It’ll take you about five hours to get nine holes done. Amazing wildlife though.

Staff here is on point. They do a great job. The main guy Charles is so sweet and nice but he requires that you check in for your tee time. Only 10 minutes in advance so don't go up to the window for that cuz your toes be told to wait but that's understandable for a very busy place and a great course. It's a challenging course because it's narrow, but that's one of the reasons I love it cuz if it was easy and not challenging, why play it? The course features par fours and threes. The first hole is wide open but stay away from the right side because of the large trees and slope. The second hole…

9 holes but a fantastic golf course in the middle of the Forrest and so close with Hollywood Very cheap, difficult to play, a lot of very nice views I recommend

Fun course! The starter was great and I got to play with a staff member who was friendly and super helpful. It's a challenging course and you are able to use most clubs in your bag. Greens roll pretty nicely and the views are great. You can see the Griffith Observatory on a number of holes. You are also able to play as a fivesome which is fun.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a negative review of anything ever before but man this course is a disaster. The greens and fairways are beautiful and in great shape, but they send out groups of 5 which slows down play a lot, and you have to check in EXACTLY 10 minutes before, not a minute earlier or you will be sent to the back of the line (and potentially be late to tee off), and not a minute later, or they will give your time away with no warning. I only play here when there’s nowhere else to play. Bummer, the course is gorgeous.

One of the most poorly managed golf courses you can find. They book tee times close together with five players per group, usually all beginners. Showed up and tee time was delayed by 30 minutes. Beginner players teeing off from the tips hitting it ten yards. Zero education or enforcement of pace of play. After over an hour we got through one single hole. Walked backed and the guy working was actually understanding since it was so backed up and said he would refund the fee no problem but I’d have to put it through GolfNow since that’s how I booked it and then he would confirm it. A few days lat…

This review is from a recreational golfer. The course is an excellent 9 hole, the grass and green is well kept. They got options for push carts. The course flows well with one hole that gets a little clogged and it’s a 5 person setup for each tee time. Just be aware there is no driving range. Overall it’s a challenging 9 hole with a lot of par 4’s and very satisfying once you finish. Parking was limited but we luckily got one in the golf parking, otherwise street parking is available. I reserved two spots and got matched with three other random people but they were real cool. Wish there was…

TLDR: tight but great layouts, wet in the morning, lots of elevation and fun-challenging putts. I arrived close to my tee time, 7am for a 7:10am start--my bad! Traffic can build up on the way there. It is Los Angeles. It was still dewey, wet, while it rained a lot 3 days before this round. Practice greens were closed--too wet--and tee boxes were mainly not used--again, too wet. The hole layouts, somewhat tight, were fun and lots of elevation change! 2nd hole you tee off hitting uphill, 6th hole approach is downhill to the green. I kept the driver (~260yd club) in the bag except for 2 holes. G…

Absolutely beautiful. The course can be very unforgiving. A loose 3-5 balls here every time I place. The views are amazing. We saw a baby deer in the brush the last time we played here

This course is actually really great. It’s a municipal course so the greens get beat up pretty hard and it makes for difficult reads. I think the fairways are kept up well and the tee boxes are in pretty good shape. It’s in Griffith park and it has two things, hills and amazing views of the observatory from the fairways. Especially hole 2 and 8. Side note, if you go early morning or evening, you can catch coyotes or deer roaming around.

Place is beautiful and the course is pretty fun. Only reason I’m giving it two stars is because of what I witnessed yesterday. The employee with the mustache was being extremely rude and short with some folks who didn’t speak the best english. He was rushing them and being loud towards them when they were checking in. The guy obviously has something going on in his head or life that made him this way, but I’d let him go if I ran the joint.

One of the best 9 hole courses I’ve played. Green is in good condition. Can get slow sometimes according to other players. Each hole has its challenging design. Best is picturesque vantage point of LA and you wouldn’t realize you’re by the Griffith Observatory.
