In summary

Salem Hills Golf & Country Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained greens, challenging layout, and friendly staff, with many visitors appreciating the course's elevation changes and overall cleanliness. The club is noted for offering good value, with competitive greens fees and a welcoming atmosphere. The cart paths are absolutely terrible. You have to drive in the grass as they are way too bumpy to ride on. I got stung by a hornet when trying to ring the bell on the hole cross the bridge. Fairways and greens are so burnt and not in good shape at all. Not a good course to play on AT all.

Big greens that are in excellent shape. The rest of the course is in very nice shape with good direction to different holes with ball cleaners also at the senior tees. A very good experience.

Just played here today.. Greens are very well kept! Challenging course and really enjoyed the elevation changes! Friendly staff! Bartender makes a great bloody Mary! 😉 Just very well kept over all! No trash or debris or even broken tees anywhere! Very clean tee boxes! Overall great experience and would recommend this course to anyone!!

Great course. Fairways were groomed really nice. Beautiful greens. I will be going back soon.

You would think with all the ponds that they have that they would be able to water and have the fairways at least green. But no they choose not to water and most of the fairway is brown dead and hard as a rock. Not a fan of this golf course.

Very nice golf course. Fairways and greens are in great shape. I love the doglegs. Playing from the back tees makes it a challenging course. You can put up some low scores if you stay in the fairways. Greens are extremely fast. The greens fees are very reasonable. We used the Southern Loop card and paid $18 for 18 holes with a cart. Some holes are challenging because a creek runs through many of the back nine holes causing you to either swing big or layup. All in all, Salem Hills is a very nice course. Definitely will play it again.

The parking lot is pretty beat-up. The proshop smells musty and off putting and is sparsely stocked. The guy at the counter is dismissive and not the least bit congenial. The tee boxes are slightly above average. Fairways below average. Greens average. Course layout is uninspiring. I won't golf there again.

This is one of my favorite courses in the area. A nice track with large fairways and challenging greens. I’ve never had a problem getting out on the course. The staff is very friendly, knows what golfers want. There’s a bar and restaurant, but check for days they’re open. Back to course, it fits long hitters and short hitters. We get tee times there at least 5 times during our summer traveling. There’s some mature trees and large sloping greens. As my buddy says, this is not a popcorn course. Indeed, there’s a 200 yard par 3 on the back 9 that will make you think twice about your choice of clu…

I really love this course. Unfortunately we went a day after a huge storm and it was very swampy. The greens were still in great condition I felt 42 for the front nine was pretty decent considering the conditions.

You won't find a better course for your buck in the Youngstown area. Ben and his staff bust their tails to give you a great experience with great conditions. The layout is fun and fair, but also offers a challenge. Great mix of holes.

Salem Hills is one of my favorite courses in the area. A challenging layout featuring plenty of hazards awaits you at this well maintained golf course. The back nine especially will test your game with water in play on nearly every hole. Greens fees are competitive for the area.
