What People Say

In summary

Shandin Hills Golf Club is praised for its friendly and accommodating staff, as well as being a budget-friendly venue for events. The course offers a challenging layout with varied terrain, providing an enjoyable experience for many golfers. However, several visitors have expressed concerns about the maintenance of the greens and fairways, citing issues such as patchy greens, waterlogged fairways, and inconsistent grass quality. Additionally, the pace of play and frequent closures of the driving range have been noted as areas needing improvement.

Special shout out to Addy your customer service and general happiness while you work your position is a joy to see. Keep up the great work!! (I golf here weekly with many members of our roofing company. Between the rates, going out of their way, the twilight deal, etc…EXCELLENT!)

This enjoyable course is a twofer - the front 9 winds up into the foothills with some fun terrain, while the back nine is wide open and mostly level. Fire away. Front or back, most greens are defended by two or three bunkers that will reward planning and precision on approach. Course conditions were ideal on a recent weekday morning, impeccable greens, close-cropped fairways, deep sandy bunkers, no mud. Pace of play was quite slow for some reason, even with an early tee-time. Let’s say keeping pace with the group ahead was never a problem, adding up to a 4+ hour round.

Used to play here few years ago, but was sad to see that a course is not properly maintained. Back 9 is bit better than the first 9. At least if a green is well covered and maintained, it would be better to play.

Came here to work Photograph a wedding. The ceremony site is nice, grass is green. The staff was very accommodating with lending the bride and groom golf carts. Overall nice place for a wedding

Just to start I would like the say the staff is great however it was embarrassing playing here. The greens are absolutely horrendous. It was bad when I played there about 8 months ago. I thought I'd give it another try and it somehow was worse. Save your 65 dollars and play somewhere else.

Played the course on 10-7-2025 and was very disappointed! I've played this course for over25 tears, and have never seen it this bad. The staff and maintenance personnel were very polite. Such a shame to see how run down it has become!

The golf course is poorly maintained: the fairways are often swampy, the bunkers have hardened soil, and the putting greens contain weeds, bare patches, and numerous unrepaired ball marks. The driving range experiences frequent, unscheduled closures—at any time of day and on any day of the week—often without clear or consistent explanations. The practice green is in poor condition, with weeds and bare spots, yet it is labeled “no chipping.” Given its current state, it would be more appropriately designated as a chipping practice area rather than a putting green.

Good course for $50. Fairways are good and greens are maintained fairly well. However there are balls flying everywhere. I almost got hit by the ball at hole 2 from the player from hole 1. And my mother in law who was playing with me actually got hit by the ball at hole 7. Horrible experience. She was lucky enough not to be struck in her face. She is icing right now after the hit but never want to imagine the scene again.

I was able to network with Patty and take a sweet tour of the venue and grounds. Weather was perfect. I think this is a very budget friendly venue and I look forward to providing florals for many upcoming events.

Took the 1 hr trip to play this course, absolutely worth it! I was worried when reading the recent reviews about how bad it was. People made it seem like it was atrocious and unplayable. While there were some issues ( some of the greens were dried out and effected your putting), overall was a fantastic experience. Beautiful course, difficult but nonetheless enjoyable! I heard that its under somewhat new management and they've let the quality dip a bit, but overall, was very happy!

Green fees are okay have a good relationship with the Marshall The only thing I don't like is how the grass is out of order there's different types of grass in the fairway but other than that the practice areas perfect and the management is very helpful and nice

I've been here multiple times because it's close to home. Disappointed many times. Range has been shut down many times because they need to pick balls up. The greens are looking terrible for the price. Friendly staff.
