In summary

Tierra Del Sol Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging course layout, and scenic views. However, many visitors express concerns about the course's overall condition, particularly the fairways and sand traps, which are often described as poorly maintained. The club is under new ownership, which some patrons hope will bring improvements to the facilities and course conditions.

I was extremely shocked in the condition of the course for $55 per round. The first two holes showed promise, but after that the course was in extremely poor condition. Hardly any grass in what they call fairways. I almost believe there was more grass growing in the sand bunkers than the fairways. I went back into the Pro Shop to complain, which I never do. I was really saddened by the poor condition, especially for the price. The picture below shows the condition of the tee box and fairways.

Great course, friendly staff, delicious food. Would be 5 stars if they maintained the leaves a little more. So many balls lost due to leaves during the fall season! Good ocasional meals

Had a great day of golf here but don't take your game seriously when playing this course. Pro shop closed, no range balls. Greens and tee boxes are nice but fairways need a lot of work. Dirt landing zones cause no roll or wayward bounces causing lost balls. Sand traps overgrown with weeds. Views are awesome, layout would be fun if course was up to par. Staff very nice, beer cold and affordable (they even provide ice and an ice chest). Buildings and restrooms need updates badly. All in all, nice place. Just needs some work to bring it up to its potential.

Tierra Del Sol is definitely rising. The new owners have definitely revitalized this course, and they are both really nice and personable guys. Greens are amazing and the fairways are narrow and challenging. This course is definitely a hidden gem!

Played on SuperBowl Sunday 2025. How sad, this used to be such a beautiful course, but it is in pretty bad shape right now. We all know that winter golf in NM can be rough, but this is way worse than just winter damage. I hope the course gets the attention it needs, the community deserves better! I think the golf cart we had was older than my oldest son, he is 35. Fingers crossed for better equipment, management, and customer service!!! I gave it 2 stars because for the most part, the greens were ok. That is all I can say.

Played a scramble, supporting veterans, here on November 2nd. Late in the year for golf in NM. The course was in really bad shape. More so than can be accounted for by the late time-of-year. Lost a number of balls that landed in the fairway or the first cut (there is no first cut) of rough. Multiple areas had large areas of fresh, loose dirt spread on the course, including one tee box that was all fresh dirt. Driving the cart on the fairway was like driving down a washboard dirt and gravel road, with the occasional speed bump. The carts are old with at least one cart that wouldn't turn. But, I…

I want to give it 5 stars because the layout of the course is so fun. But it’s in terrible shape. Mostly dirt and weeds. Funnily enough the bunkers have more crabgrass than some of the fairways. It needs help but has so much potential.

I grew up in belen and played here many times, although it has been 10+ years. Came back home for a visit and figured I would play a round and I was saddened by how terrible shape this once beautiful course has become. It seemed to have more dead grass and dirt than fairway. Maybe they are getting their water cut off because of the drought? I remember a small pond on the back 9 and it was completely dried up and empty. Broken tree limbs and sticks everywhere. Sand traps had trash and rocks larger than a golf ball in them. Some greens were in great shape others like 14 (I think) had a huge dead…
