I’ve lived in the upstate of South Carolina my entire life (71 years) and have heard of Lake Russell but never visited there. I was invited to play the Arrowhead Course this week and was blown away. The staff and the facilities are absolutely incredible. Friendly staff made the experience perfect. The course is as good as I’ve ever played and it is a State Park open to the public. I will definitely go back and my wife and I are planning an extended stay at one of their cottage rentals. 4 hours on the course around the lake and I saw one kayak and heard one boat engine, but never saw the boat.…

Update: Returned in late August to walk 18 and the course continues to impress! Lush fairways, thick lose your ball rough, and greens that hold. Pace of play was slow today without a ranger, but everything else was perfect! FYI course length for walking is ~7 miles. Phenomenal golf course in the middle of nowhere! Even in a severe drought, the course was green and well attended. Fairways are lined with trees making every tee shot echo, wide fairways are generous and sloping, most greens are protected by traps with white sand. Back nine crosses the lake several times creating challenging tee s…

What an awesome Golf Course. Perfect setting and condition of the course was good. You cannot beat the value of this course. One of my favorites if not my favorite in the Hartwell, GA area. If I were to say something negative it would be the greens were a little slow but the setting and condition of the course made me quickly get over it.

Staff was friendly and accommodated our early arrival to an already early tee time (8am). Pro shop is well-stocked, clubhouse has both indoor and outdoor seating. Course is beautiful and well-maintained. The views are stunning. The round is a good combination of challenging and forgiving. Rough was rough but not too long. Missing the fairway is not recommended but we didn't lose many balls on land. Pace of play was decent, price was good. The carts are in good shape. We stayed at the campground nearby and the "commute" was easy.

Fantastic course! Highly recommend. The front nine teases you with some cool views and some really nice holes. The back 9 is arguably the best in all of Georgia. Book a round here. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent course with generous tree lined fairways. Greens are healthy but not overly quick. The scenery is beautiful and the price is very reasonable for a course of this quality.
