Bowmanville Golf & Country Club

Course has the potential to be a great course, greens are well kept, Tee boxes could use a little bit of loving, fairways aren't very noticeable, there's not much of a difference between rough and fairway! Sand traps are nice and fluffy, the pace of play is reasonable! Prices seem to be a little on the higher side for the quality of golf, wouldn't mind coming to the course if the prices were a little more reasonable. Overall still a nice course with beautiful scenery, nice course design and very friendly staff!! The potential is there with this course

Course was in good condition for the end of October. Greens were great and fast. Fairways were cut in the middle, sides were too long and lost a couple of balls in the taller grass.

Atmosphere and course layout is good. Greens are interesting and well maintained. Fairways are terrible and very hard. You also can barely tell the difference between the rough and the fairway. To top it off marshal told us to speed up our pace of play with a pretty negative attitude after not only seeing that we were waiting for the group ahead to move but also watching that group tee off during our tee of time. Some fairways dry and hard due to hot summer days. The price was good and friendly staff.

They've put some work into the course since I played last. Greens and expanded tee boxes are excellent, but the fairways are still not watered so lots of brown. Nice stone yardage markers as well. Value about right at 3.5 out of 5.

The course is beautiful, no complaints there. Our T time 3:35 for 3, group in front, 3:32 for 4. Group in front ended up skipping a really slow group so then we were stuck behind a big slow group, who a marshal spoke too and told them to let us pass. They didn’t. That was fine we were patient and went through nine holes and called and asked if we can just get a credit for the other nine. They said we could get $10 back. After paying $175 for the whole course. Course is in good shape, consistent greens. Tee boxes are large. Just enough challenge to keep golfers happy. Fairways are ok. Friendly staff.

An older course that includes 2 notably different nines. The front is more open and forgiving, while the back is tighter and tree-lined. This isn't a course with a lot of difficulty, but it's an enjoyable round of golf, especially for those who are more recreational than competitive players.

Pace of play is always an issue. Tee times should be spaced out 10 mins. Played behind the slowest two people in history, nothing out of the ordinary at this course, and was relieved when they left after 9. I get to the 10th hole and of course this little old lady snuck her way in, which she does multiple times a day, multiple days a week, and plays two balls. 2 stars because the tee boxes and greens were in better shape than normal. Pace of play here is always an issue, always.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would, if you’re looking for a 6 hour round where the gravel parking lot plays better than the fairways this is the place for you. If you’re lucky enough you’ll run into the Marshall Peter, he will kick you off for looking at him. Save your $75 and go anywhere else, otherwise find peter to save you from the disappointment you’ll face the rest of your round.

We went on July 12th with a group of 13 for a small tournament with some friends. We started the round behind time due to the course being behind schedule then waited on all of the first 9 holes took almost 3 hours to finish the first 9. When we provided to the back 9 the groups in front did not play as they only played the front so we played the back 9 much faster. We were playing ahead of pace of play and once we reached the 18th hole there was 3 groups ahead of us waiting at the tee block, as we waiting the other 3 tee groups behind us caught up as we all waited to tee off. Course is beautiful. Workers are rude. Do not go here if you look under 18, you will get picked on by the employees and they follow you around.
