In summary

Briar Fox Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, enjoyable course layout, and well-maintained greens, offering a pleasant experience for golfers of various skill levels. However, several visitors have expressed concerns about the overall maintenance of the course, particularly the condition of the fairways, tee boxes, and bunkers, which some find lacking. Additionally, there are mixed opinions on the value for money, with some golfers feeling the course does not justify its pricing, especially given the dry conditions and occasional slow pace of play.

Fun course and always like playing here. We went for an event and it was perfect for the big group that came. Everyone had a great time, and we'll be back this summer 💯. They have a nice bar, cart person, and clubhouse extra.

Club house staff were friendly and efficient. Washrooms were clean. Course was not maintained well. Bunkers are horrible- fairways are indistinguishable- wild parsnip everywhere. Sooo dangerous. Clumps of grass everywhere- lost many balls that were just on “the fringe” due to poor conditions. Tee boxes are rough. Greens look amazing but are bumpy. Makes for a tough round. Will not be back. Price was $138 for two people with a cart- and I can go to better maintained courses for this price. Also speaking of the cart- #38 cart needs to be pushed to start. Terrible. Cart was in rough shape. Too ba…

This was the first course I ever played and kept a proper score on back in 2007. A lot has changed in my golf game since then and I would now consider myself an OK single digit player. Last weekend I went back and played a round there with my wife on the way home from a short stay in PEC. I have a lot of affection for Briar Fox and we had a wonderful time. The course was fairly busy but moved well, we got around in 4 hours flat, walking. The course was in decent shape and well priced. Everyone on the course, in the pro shop and in the bar were very friendly and welcoming. The greens (the most…

A little dry at this time of the year but the greens are great. Love Briar Fox absolutely a great place to golf. $75 with cart. Seems a little pricey to me but it is what it is. Also a quick trip to the reserve to get gas so there's the upside

Sadly the Google rating of 4.2 is not close to accurate. No watering, no maintenance, full tee boxes of sand…. Fairways are cracked due to no watering. I don’t take writing a negative review lightly but this place is absolutely atrocious. Politely asked for a refund due to the conditions after 9 holes and was refused. The customer service was about as good as the course 🤷🏻‍♂️. Wouldn’t golf here if you paid me. Save your money!!

Overall condition of course is deplorable. Tee "bunker" box consisted of more broken tees and cigarette butts than grass, fairways were so desperate for water that they were cracked and equavalant to hitting an iron from your driveway. Tee times were overlapped and pace of play forced to sub 4 hours. Pace never likely to exceed 4 hours as many won't make the turn past the parking lot for the back 9. 14th fairway, site of the cart wash was the only green grass to be found. Management took no responsibility for awful conditions and lack of maintenance when approached for a refund of 9 holes, irr…

Generous fairways and generally in good shape...some dry patches here and there. Trees throughout course, but well kept so if ball goes into trees, one can find your ball and hit out. Greens were smooth but I found them a bit slow. A lot of the tees need work as did the bunkers. Still, for $48, reasonable value. Played in 4 hrs, 10min.

DO NOT GO HERE! Myself and three friends went today (June 8th) and the course was nearly in shambles. The fairways are as hard as concrete, nearly all the roughs should have been marked as a hazard because you can't see your ball even when standing 10 feet away from it. Not to mention the choking amount of dust everywhere because it's so dry and everything is poorly maintained. The few sandtraps they have are in poor condition as well. Don't get me started on the majority of tee boxes. IF they weren't hard enough to break your wooden tee they were SAND! The greens were the only saving grace…

great spot to play once a season, it's honestly a little harder than you'd expect once you get out there. Course was really fast and dry, not many hazards but you will lose some balls if you don't keep it in the fairway.

I invited 2 friends to play a round close to their home and Briar Fox was the best location for them. I live in west Ottawa. There were no tee boxes just sand boxes. Thank goodness for some green weeds in the fairways or it would have been a sea of brown, dry, crispy ground. There was no warning at the checkin as to the extremely poor conditions and we were charged full price even though we are all seniors in our seventies. There should be a warning sign before entering the clubhouse indicating that the course is in extremely poor shape and not really playable. The online photos are misleading…

Let the locals used to the condition enjoy their time. Not for visitors.
