Many visitors enjoy the reasonably priced concessions and overall course condition. However, some players have expressed concerns about the management, particularly the aggressive marshalling and strict pace of play expectations, which have impacted their experience. Carnoustie Golf Course is a hidden gem in Port Coquitlam, BC, Canada. The conditioning is amazing. Fairways in super shape and the greens roll true. There are challenging dogleg holes and some easier holes too. You will enjoy your day. Oh and the food is awesome especially the hot dog I had after 9 holes 😋.

Played Carnoustie Golf Club today and it was a decent round but a few thoughts on this one 1. It is definitely not an $85 (after taxes) course…more of a 50-55 course at best but you can always grab a tee time 2. I’ve seen better greens at pitch & putts, so bumpy, sandy or just no grass at all 3. They really need to take care of the sewage issue between hole 13 & 14, just smelled absolutely putrid 4. Concessions was actually nicely priced and hots dogs were good there 5. In a pinch, the course is usually easily available and very challenging (6000 yards from the whites) but wouldn’t be my top…

While the course itself is lovely, the behavior of the Marshall and Pro Shop was terrible. I expected a certain level of etiquette, but unfortunately, I will not be returning. Summary of the experience: Delayed Start: We had a 7:30 AM tee time, but with no starter present and congestion ahead, we were forced to tee off 8 minutes late. Unreasonable Marshalling: Immediately after the 1st hole, a Marshall warned us we were behind schedule. I explained we were delayed due to the groups ahead of us. Constant Harassment: The Marshall returned at Hole 3 and threatened to skip us ahead if we didn'…

On September 6th at 6:42 a.m., our group of four played a full round of golf at this course. We completed the front nine in 2 hours and 10 minutes and the back nine in just under 2 hours, for a total round time of 4 hours and 8 minutes. Throughout the entire round, there was no group waiting behind us. Despite this, during the front nine we were approached by the marshal on four separate occasions and even asked to skip a hole, which we declined. While we recognize that early morning tee times set the pace for the remainder of the day, it appears this course’s management expects every group t…

Great course, well maintained, staff are amazing. The fact you can’t book a solo via phone nor online is crazy. Booked online received confirmation via the app, show up to find out my tee time has been cancelled.

Decent track but be prepared to have the Marshal hover over you the entire time. Our foursome(walking) finished our round in under 4 hours yet were told we had to speed up. This is after rushing our tee off. If I’m going to pay almost a hundred bucks to play - don’t breathe down our necks unless we’re actually going slow.

For this time of year, the course is in pretty good shape however, the pull carts they have available for rent are awful, particularly the large wheeled ones. My other beef is with the Marshalls, we finished the round in 4 hrs 10 minutes, yet were told multiple times to speed up, even though the group behind us was nowhere to be seen from hole 4 to hole 16. They caught us against at 16/17, and like clock work, the good old Marshall was on the side of the green, shaking his head with a disgusted look on his face. I realize these guys have a job to do but a little class and tact goes a long way…

Decent course but terrible management: 1. We were the first group off the tee at 6:34 am we were comprised of 2 separate two some. 2. The starter announced the next group to get on the tee at 6:37 am, their bookings are 8 minuets apart which is already pretty tight, but they announced them a full 4 minuets early. 3. The first 6 holes only has one par 3, mostly comprised of longer holes we were on pace to finish within 4 hours and in fact we did we finished at 10:20, under 4 hours. 4. Despite this we were hounded by the marshal to speed up for the group behind us, and then eventually forced to…

My wife's cousin's husband wanted to play a game of golf, so I was searching for a place to play. We live quite away from each other. I thought I'll book a place closer to him. It's really hard to get a morning tee time, but I was lucky to get a time at Carnoustie Golf Club in Port Coquitlam. It was a 40 min highway drive for me because I live closer to White Rock. When I got there I was very impressed with the fairways and the manicured course. Well taken cared. It's quite scenic looking with the mountains to the north. Upon playing I really liked the layout, challenging but also possible to…

Absolutely worst golf experience you will encounter. We had a 7:14am tee time and was starting off 10 minutes late because they were behind schedule. After a few holes we were told by the Marshall to hurry up pace of play because we are behind schedule by 10 minutes of our tee time, even though they started us late by 10 minutes. He was extremely rude and did not know how to communicate this professionally. Our group is considered fast and was waiting for the group in front of us each hole before we can even tee off, but was still told to hurry up “or else”. Don’t waste your money here unless…

Absolutely terrible experience on the course. I was playing solo in the twilight hours. the marshal (some old lady) approached me while smoking a cigarette, blew her smoke in my face, and then was incredibly rude to me. She told me I had to go join the group ahead of me (which I instantly agreed to do). the group ahead had already teed off and for some reason she expected me to hit into them so I could catch up. When I said "I don't want to hit into them, I'll just meet the, on the next tee box" she responded by saying "what don't you understand?!" and proceeded to harass me over this. Absolut…

Bad Experience We booked a foursome for 6pm, we left early from Vancouver to make sure we showed up with enough time so we wouldn’t hold anyone back. After checking in I verified our tee time and the person working the clubhouse asked us to start on the 10th hole. Haven’t had that happen before. Course was in ok shape considering how hot and dry it has been. As we were approaching the 17th hole somewhere around 730pm we noticed the flag was pulled from the green and the 18th hole as well. When we moved to hole number 1 to start the front 9 we saw that sprinklers were turning on hole 2 and 3,…
