In summary

Charleston Springs Golf Club is highly regarded for its well-maintained courses, with both the North and South courses offering distinct challenges and excellent layouts. The facility boasts extensive practice areas, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it feel akin to a private club despite being public. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play and occasional staff rudeness, and the sand traps could benefit from better maintenance.

Charleston South. Early tee time. Muggy but ok. Sand traps remain a challenge at Charleston, both North and South. They lack sand and drainage. What sand they do have becomes hard packed, causing the club to skip.

Grew up learning the game in New Jersey, but now reside in South Carolina.. I missed the distinct feel of the courses in Jersey as opposed to the flat swamp golf of Myrtle Beach. Don't take courses like this for granted! And FIX YOUR BALL MARKS!

PLAY HERE BEFORE THE 2023 GOLF SEASON IS OVER! *I’ve played thrice since August* This place is so well run. From the extensive short game practice area to the massive practice putting greens, this is a must play course. As my photos show, the fairways and fringe are in phenomenal condition. I played during late August, mid-September, and early October and the place stays PRIME. Pace of play is great and the staff are quite friendly. Arrive early and take advantage of the practice areas. The South course is challenging enough even when playing from the tips. All parts of your game are use…

Very well kept Southern course that was a pleasure to play. Recommend getting a golf cart in playing the South course as it is quite a hike and likely a lot for someone who's not used to a lot of up and downhill hiking. They also have a pudding chipping and driving range to use. Can't wait to go try the North Course!

Absolutely beautiful course, especially considering it’s public. North is wide open with tall grass and minimal trees. South is more manicured with more trees and is a bit narrower. South is slightly more challenging, in my opinion. It has the only driving range I can find in the area with real grass and is reasonably priced ($6 small bucket). Pro tip: you do not need a county card to play 9 holes at twilight, and $17 is hard to beat.

Really really nice set of golf courses. Played the north course this past week and the south last year. North is challenging links style layout. Very thick fescue and rough along with length make this a real test, meaning my score was higher than normal. I recall the south was more traditional layout but also tough. Lucky for you to get to play these courses on the cheap if you live in Monmouth county (I don't).

Great county course. Well maintained, two 18 hole courses, putting green, chipping area, and grass driving range. Only downside is that the clubhouse is outdated.

Both north and south courses are kept in great condition. Tee times are always on time. Tons of water coolers and ball cleaners along both courses too. Highly recommend playing here, these are the best public courses in the area.

One of the best facilities the public can play I’ve been to in NJ, PA, CT & NY. Like what everyone else has said, feels like a private club with 2x 18s. Very reasonable prices for the quality you get.

Well maintained. Large practice areas. Busy course...your ball may go missing if you over shoot.

I've played both of their courses over 100 times back when I lived in NJ, and always enjoyed them. Always nice conditions, they are very well maintained county courses. The courses are long, but very walkable.
