In summary

Crab Orchard Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere for golfers of all levels. The on-site restaurant, Loopers, is also highlighted for its excellent food and pleasant dining experience. Some visitors mention that the greens can occasionally be rough, and there are occasional issues with managing tee times and pace of play, but overall, the club offers a satisfying golfing experience.

We stopped at this course as the first leg of our weekend golf trip. Owner was at the course working and was extremely kind and made us feel right at home. Course was in great shape and was challenging and fun at the same time. Restaurant connected to the club house was great as well!

This course is long, and some of the fairways were challenging, in that they were narrow. It's a pretty flat course, a great course for a long hitter. The greens were well kept, the club house staff is pleasant and helpful. I liked how quiet the course was. I would suggest they have one or two water coolers on the course and rakes in the sand traps.

We come here from Texas twice a year and absolutely love it every time. The staff is great, the course is always beautiful, the food is awesome, just a peaceful atmosphere and place to golf.

Course in great shape. The staff are very accommodating. The Pro. Andy Church is a great guy and good teacher. The restaurant has great food. And you won’t leave hungry.

I've been coming here since I was shorter than the golf cart wheels....Sarah Haas was my kindergarten teacher and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The golf course itself is spectacular. I play golf worse than Charles Barkley and I make Happy Gilmore look like Arnold Palmer, but I still come out and better yet, they let me....enough said.

One of the best designed courses in the area and routinely in good shape, COGC is a great course to play. Only critiques are that tee times can be chaotic and the price is one of the highest in the area. There are nice people in the club house but unfortunately they aren't the best at managing course use. And when you pay city course prices only to get stuck behind a group of 8 or ten it can be frustrating.

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FOOD ! The steak was so big I had to bring most of it home and the salad was great and of course I had to bring home a piece of whole made pie and it's great as well .The atmosphere was so nice and not loud or anything disturbing , the whole experience was great and it was my first time there .Friday night is steak special and its hugh and Tuesday is wing night so I will be trying that out as well , I would say a excellent meal and service ! Reccomend it highly !

We'd heard that the restaurant at the Crab Orchard Golf Club, known as Loopers, had very good chili mac. They feature it on Thursdays. Sure enough, it's excellent. We also found out they have soup, salads and sandwiches. For supper they always have a special or two. We'll be going back, especially for the chili mac.
