In summary

Desert Winds Golf Course is praised for its affordability, friendly staff, and well-maintained conditions, especially considering its location in the high desert. The course offers a unique experience with both regular and disc golf options, and visitors appreciate the wildlife and amenities like the driving range and putting area. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as bumpy greens and potholed fairways, and there have been occasional concerns about staff interactions and misleading online representations.

The disc golf course is pretty good. Hole 5 has a hefty right turn toward the end and you can lose your disc's in the trees (I almost did). And hole 9 is the farthest hole. Its also interlaced with the regular golf course, so be mindful of them when playing.

Solid course for the price close to 1 dollar per hole. Greens are very slow. Saturdays and Sundays e1-e5 get free range tokens from 10-12. Range is okay and they have clubs you can use at the range. Also has a putting and chipping area in the back. The older lady is the most helpful.

The golf course is well maintained. We unfortunately did not have enough time to play as much of the course as we would like due to having to drive home that day, but I have no doubt the whole place is amazing. It was not crowded at all and there was lots of wildlife!

As a beginner, I cannot really give any more constructive judgment of the quality of courses but say that my husband and I had a good time playing (despite having to skip two of the courses - one as it was closed and the other as we misread the map). What struck us as a negative was an unpleasant greeting and handling by one of the receptionists. Prior to visiting, we checked the website that showed most of the time slots open, so we didn't think there would be a problem finding a vacancy. What we didn't know is that we had to make a reservation regardless - an honest mistake. Right at the sta…

This is a good desert course on a military base. The people here are solid and hard working. The course is in the middle range of difficulty. Wind is usually a factor (hence the name) I recommend playing it twice on two different days

Greens are bumpy and need to be rolled . Wear a kidney belt if you plan on driving a cart. Fairways are extremely potholed and will make your body sore to it's core. Will not play there again. Staff was very nice. Course not so much. After talking to my golf buddies we all came to the agreement that this is absolutely the worst course any of us have ever played. I don't know how the locals play this course on the regular

Good desert golf course. For being in the middle of the high desert, Desert Winds is pretty well maintained. A couple of dry dusty areas here and there, but overall not bad. Course fees are very reasonable and the course is not too challenging. Great for beginners.

This course sucks but its where i learned to play golf so I cant hate too much. Also the pictures on the website are completely misleading, the course isn’t even half as nice as the pictures, there are no sand traps, and the only water hazard is a dried up swamp Shrek wouldn’t even be caught dead in.

Was hopeful to come play since I'm traveling. Didn't realize this is within the military base and civilians are to call ahead 24hrs in advance to be allowed to play. Sad cause this course looked like alot of fun. Probably my own folly but in case you're not from around here, call ahead.

You cannot bring outside drinks and there’s trash all over the course. The sand traps are grassed over and the fairways are in terrible condition.

So so. Pretty good sized but the grass could use more maintenance and budget. It was pretty brown and sparse for a golf course.

Good food and nice place to enjoy it after you play. The golf is good and the fairways are nice.
