What People Say

In summary

East Orange Golf Course offers a reasonably priced golfing experience with a decent layout, good fairways, and a variety of amenities including a driving range and restaurant. While many appreciate the improvements in course conditions, particularly the fairways, there are recurring issues with the greens being rough or poorly maintained, and some visitors report dissatisfaction with the staff's professionalism and the pace of play. Overall, the course provides value for its cost, but there are areas that could benefit from further attention.

Let me start off by saying that after reading some of the reviews on here, I was extremely hesitant to play at this course. After seeing a deal for $16 to play 18 holes on a Tuesday afternoon, I decided to give the course a try. I am happy to say that this course surpassed my expectations. The fairways were nicely maintained. Sure, the greens were a little rough but definitely not as bad as some people were saying. This isn’t Augusta National. It’s a short par 70, at about 5600 yards from the tips, but I liked having to rely on my hybrids and long irons. Par 5s are wonderful birdie opportuniti…

Not a great experience. Conditions were okay and the pace of play was terrible—we were waiting after every shot. They really need a ranger to keep things moving.

I haven't been here in almost two years and last time I played the place was in pretty rough shape. The reviews made it seem like the course was still poorly maintained but to my surprise it has actually gotten a lot better! The tee boxes and fairways were perfectly acceptable, and the greens were rolling very smooth, impressive for December. There are some rough patches here and there and the bunkers aren't great, but for the price this is a solid 4-star place. Don't let the negative reviews scare you away, people's expectations are so overblown, especially for a municipal course like this.…

The greens are a bit off but the fairways are good. So it is worth $25 for 18 holes! No, complain! We enjoyed a lot! We played on March 27th Sunday

Horrible customer service here, seems like they just hire anyone off the street, prepare to get greeted by someone that is miserable to be behind the counter. They are happy to charge you the full amount but decide on random times to bring the carts in, sometimes 5 sometimes 6 sometimes 6:30. Course is not maintained, if it wasn't a local course I would never come here. Avoid it if you can m.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. From the very beginning the staff are not friendly and seem miserable to be at work. Holes are a bit unkempt but that’s something I can look past considering I was just looking to play. What I find ridiculous is the random times they want the carts back from 4 , 5 or 6 they seem to pick whatever time they want so the staff can leave and because of that I couldn’t finish the playing. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Played this course several times in the last two years. Most recent two times were unfortunately very disappointing though. In August most of the greens were covered in sand, and yesterday I played and 80% of the greens were set in the fairway. I get that the course has to do what it has to do to improve the course for future use but both times I had no notice from GolfNow or the Pro Shop about the green conditions prior to starting the round. In general I actually really appreciate the layout and location of the course. Has a driving range, restaurant, and halfway house on site as well. Lots…

Got a 520 tee time for 30 with a cart. Front 9 was crowded but no one after the turn. Got in a full round of 18. Some greens were in rough shape, newly airated and sandy. Lots of new players on this course so watch your head. Full bar and restaurant is open along with new balls at the range. For the price you can't beat it.

Hard to justify increasing rates by $10 compared to last season when no upgrades to the facility were made. As an employee of the City of Orange, I sadly do not qualify for the East Orange discount. Positives: Has a 250 yard driving range, putting green, and chipping green with enough space around it to practice pitch shots (I would recommend adding a bunker around this with the additional funds gained from the increased rates). Has an extensive halfway house and a high end restaurant/bar. All the facilities one would look for at a good golf course. Negatives: Course design is very basic…pro…

It was a mid-level course with great scenery. Holes 1 to 9 had a cozy and intimate atmosphere, while the rest of the holes were more challenging. It was my third visit, and I think it's worth coming again.

If you want a 5 hour round of golf with tee boxes that look like this, greens that are half mud, obnoxiously loud music across the course from a party on the patio, all for the extremely low price of 80 dollars, then this is the perfect place for you!

The layout is cool, made you use all the clubs in the bag. The grass is good. The price is right. Staff was nice and helpful. The greens are very good. Paulie‘s bacon egg and cheese sandwich sandwiches are tremendous and the restaurantWhat more do you want?
