Eureka. Northern California’s final outpost before the coastline folds into madness and the redwoods start whispering secrets. I rolled into town with nothing but a bag of battered clubs, a few cold cheladas, and a stubborn belief that golf — even municipal golf — still had some soul left in it. And Eureka Municipal… sweet Jesus, it delivered. It’s not shiny. It’s not sculpted within an inch of its life by landscape architects in pastel polos. No, this place is real. Eighteen holes carved into the fog-choked hillside with just enough logic to keep you sane, and just enough 90 degree dog-legs…

I was in the area in October '21 for Redwoods National Park and was able to get a round in here. Nice municipal course with driving range (not grass) & putting area right at the 1st tee. Course was maintained fairly well, there was some rough that looked quite neglected but all-in-all it was okay. Some construction through the front 9 as they are cleary working on it. It's going to be a sweet course when it's all done. Greens were in fair shape. Front 9 plays on property out in front of & across the pro-shop; back 9 is under the road and up a hill, plays more private/rural. I enjoyed the back…

Great 18 hole course in Eureka California. Nicely kept course. No houses close to the front 9! Practice green and driving range, lights on driving range allow practice until 7pm in winter. Nice big trees as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Clubhouse with items for sale as well as a snack bar.

Grew up playing this course Fond memories Many locals badmouth the muni but I think it’s well designed to fit the beautiful property Some memorable holes on the back 10 11 & 13 are my faves Hardly ever crowded and very affordable Very good for a muni course

The Eureka Golf Course features tree lined fairways, small greens, lakes. The course is home to native plants, making it an excellent environmental stewardship and well maintained course.

Relaxed, inexpensive, full golf course. Like most municipal courses, is generally not overburdened with overly stuffy golfers. Sometimes a bit busy on weekends. People who work there are nice. Course itself isn't too challenging, is pretty well maintained. A couple of the holes get soggy/ almost flooded during wet weather and tend to stay soppy for a while after wet weather, otherwise would give 5 stars

Always enjoy myself at the Eureka municipal golf course, even if only to offer a donation of golf clubs, the staff there is really friendly, food and company is great. The pro shop offers excellent golfing attire, clubs, friendly atmosphere. They will even assist prospective golfers with lessons. The folks that maintain their turf do excellent work. There on Fairway Drive you can find a nice area for cursing a small, dimpled, most likely defective ball and hangin with one, two or up to three buddies getting them steps in. Oh and they have certainly been on top of the drainage issues, no more y…

Very scenic and some of the holes are downright gorgeous. On the downside, drainage is a major problem and general lack of cart paths often forced us to drive over soft ground that should not have been driven over. The fairways suffered from lots of muddy ruts. As for gameplay, mud came into play too often. Groundskeepers seem to be doing a good job considering what they have to work with, but paths and drainage improvements would sure make their job easier. My other complaint is signage. There are a number places where someone new to the course can have real trouble navigating. Please have s…
