In summary

Grand View Golf Club is appreciated for its challenging layout and stunning views of Pittsburgh, offering a unique golfing experience with tight fairways and numerous blind shots. While the greens are generally well-maintained, many visitors note that the fairways and tee boxes need significant improvement, with some areas under repair. The staff receives praise for their friendliness, and the course is considered a good value, though some players find the course conditions detract from the overall experience.

Just passing through on a road trip going west and squeezed in some golf in Pittsburgh area while family was sleeping in. This is by far the most interesting and toughest course I’ve ever played. I did used my driver and my hybrids to get to the holes because I can hit straight. If you hook or slice you are screwed on many holes. The steep slopes, thick vegetation, or both will waste your ball. The key is to play for accuracy and not power and you will be fine! The views are amazing. Too bad my photos looking down at parts of the town and river did not come out. The carts paths are downright t…

My wife and I played this course labor day. Our first impression was oh this looks pretty cool. We were very early for our T-Time @ 1pm. So we picked up a bucket of balls and wen to the driving range not much to speak of as far as that goes but the bottom line was we were able to hit some balls prior to playing. There wasn't a lot of golf pressure so we were able to get out at around noon which was good as we had to drive back to buffalo. The course was fun lots of blind greens and undulating fairways. The T-Box's are a bit rough but but you have no problem sticking a T. The fairways need some…

Enjoyed this course. Good layout for first timers. Good conditions. Play was slow but that was ok - not sure why two foursomes allowed to play together on back nine. Staff was friendly in pro shop just need some management on course.

Have played this course about 8 times and have had the same experience every time. Staff is friendly, the course is in good condition and must complement the grounds team for their bunkers. It is common in western Pa for bunker play to be atrocious however you can tell they care for them. Wish I could say the same about the tee boxes, however I understand that this is a shot makers course so a lot of tee shots are irons off the tee so I can only imagine how challenging it is to maintain. When golfing here you can see the potential of what they are trying to accomplish. I can say with certainty…

Played this course for the first time today! Will definitely be coming back. The course offers players challenges at every hole! Tight fairways, hard dogleds, deceiving par 3's, and at the end of an 18 hole outing you get faced with a monstrous par 5. Players face this challenging course while experiencing a balanced blend of peace and tranquility in nature mixed with flawless views of industrial Pittsburgh! At the turn my partner and I got a 6 pack and 2 hot dogs each for a grand total of $21! The bunker layouts are nice, however with the recent rain the either had turned into small ponds or…

Xavier is not a huge fan of the tight fairways at Grandview, but he dropped a bomb on the iconic 15th Par 3 into the valley, stuck it five feet from the cup. He also came out ahead on found balls and did not get sun burnt! Great rates, course wasn't in bad shape, solid value and the constant horns from the steel mill screams PITTSBURGH!

Grand View Golf Course is easily the worst course I’ve ever played. Every single hole feels like a blind shot with zero visibility. Half the time you’re teeing off what looks like a dirt bike mound. The ridiculous declines and inclines make it borderline unplayable. I felt like I needed a snowboard just to get through the round. Absolutely pathetic course design from start to finish.

As an out of towner looking for a round post wedding festivities, this course appeared on several “best of” lists. The drive to the course was an adventure, but once at the entrence, it looked nice. The pros: able to get tee tubes without crazy advance notice. It was a fairly cheap round, $26 per person with a cart for 9, the views were gray, and the pace of play was quick with our 12:10 tee time. The wining point fir us were the greens. T he ey looked great, rolled true, and were a pleasure to play. A few too many un repaired ball marks but that’s expected on a public course if this nature.…

Old Tom Morris played Grand View last week while visiting Pittisburgh. The course was in great shape from Tee to Green, challenging yet fair. I teamed up with Ted, a local and he was a stroke saver! Ted shared his local knowledge of the holes, which was a blessing! Thank you Ted. The staff were very friendly, Bob the owner and Ryan at the pro shop!!! I will surely make play Grand View when visiting my grandkids!

I really think this course could be great. The price is good, it’s challenging, it’s different, the employees are great but the course is just in awful awful shape. Concrete type bounces off of “fairways” Not much grass in said “fairways” The tee boxes are non-existent as when we played, they were completely under repair (which is hopefully a good sign) - we did get a voucher for a free round which I’m assuming was because of the repair Be prepared to lose a lot of balls, doesn’t matter if you hit a good shot or not. Just a lot left to be desired at this place, has potential of being good.

Views of this golf course are incredible. The playing conditions need a lot of help with the fairways and tee boxes in desperate need for water. Had a small group out for a scramble and worked well for this. Playing a normal round would be tough but the price is right here. Extremely hilly. A lot of blind shots. Beer is cheap. Staff is super friendly. No complaints with that. Views again is what drives this rating up. If the course had grass this would be a must play.
