What People Say
Greystone Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, featuring a Tom Lehman-designed layout that combines links-style play with a few wooded holes, offering a blend of challenge and enjoyment. The staff receives commendations for their friendliness and accommodating service, and the course is noted for its affordability and value, especially given its quality. While some mention occasional maintenance issues, such as dry conditions due to irrigation problems, these are generally addressed promptly, and the overall experience remains positive.
Really enjoyed the layout of this course. Tom Lehman design did a superb job working with the existing land and created a fun track on the Minnesota prairie which gives it touches of the home of golf in the UK. While most of the course is wide open without trees the use of marshes and bunkers still requires precision shotmaking. There are a few holes on the higher side and back 9 of the course which are amidst the trees including a fantastic downhill par three over a marshy area. Even incredible gusty winds didn’t spoil our round only made us appreciate the challenge and skill it takes to mane…
We have played this course for four straight years on our way home from the Minnesota Gophers home opener on Labor Day weekend. Great course, great price and a must stop on the way up north! The bad reviews are people who see “Tom Lehman” design and expect a PGA professional course. It’s a fun golf course on par with other lakes area courses like Perham Lakeside, Thumper Pond and Pebble Lake.
Wow! What a Beautiful course! Loved this so much! I'm happy I drove up from the cities to give it a try. What a great layout with a couple reachable par 5's. The course was still in great shape for the 19th of October. I will be back next summer to try this when it is in peak shape and condition. The staff was great for being short handed as is to be expected at this time of year. Is a member of the PCC! Thanks Greystone!
How have I never played here before?!? The $25 deal is unbelievable. This would be a $100 plus round if you plopped it down anywhere near the Twin Cities metro. The drive from MPLS was easy and well worth the time. The staff was very accommodating and my only mistake was having made a second tee time in the afternoon at another golf course. I won’t make that mistake again. Absolutely worth the drive and I’ll be back soon!
Went here with my family member that is just learning to play golf - this was our first time going 18 holes. it was a really fun day. The holes were long and challenging, but not so much that you couldn't find your errant balls - most of the time. nice breeze on most of the course, and the mosquitos left us alone, unless you went into the wooded area to look for a ball. Each hole had a different challenge from a curving fairway, to mogul hills, to a couple water hazards - all fun, challenging, but not frustratingly difficult. And the people in the club house, on the course, all very pleasant.…

Beautiful course! We played on a Saturday and were impressed by how quick the pace of play was. On top of that, it was super affordable—amazing value for such a well-kept course. Definitely coming back!
I play a lot of golf all around the US. This is one of the dollar for dollar best golf course that I have played. Make the 45 minute drive to play out here multiple times a year… Not to many courses that you can play at 7100 yards.. Fun lay out, greens roll true, and catch them on a day when they were cut and rolled- they have some nice pace to them… Staff have been great to me as well- always a plus.
Great links play with a few in the woods. Carts are decent, gas, USB charger, rain cover for clubs. No GPS or club/ball wash Beautiful views and inviting fairways with a few difficult blind doglegs. Plenty of chances for a hole in one and well kept rough Well kept from tee to green. The greens were in amazing shape aside from a pitch mark here and there. Range was good and the practice green has lots of slope to it. Staff here are extremely friendly and helpful.
Beautifully manicured course! Large fairways great greens! Don't get me wrong it's a challenging course but forgiving as well! Definitely worth the experience. Good rates & friendly staff. Be sure to swing by the club house for your food and beverages to maintain your peak performance out on the course!
I mostly play down in the SE part of MN around the red wing area. This is a great course. I loved the links layout. Tee boxes were good but the fairways and greens ran true. Cannot bet this course for the price. Played just as nice as The Jewel and MN National but no bugs…the only thing I would say is trim down the thistles in the hazards/ super rough and plant some native grass and lupine to choke them out. It’ll look amazing you wouldn’t have to worry about maintenance there anymore.
Have been playing Greystone for 3+ years. Greens are true and roll well, hold approach shots and have many undulations. Tees are fairly flat but the grass is a bit too long on them. Fairways are mostly well defined and the bent grass is about the right height. This course is generally underplayed and 3 hour rounds are not unusual. The style of the course is links like. Water comes into play on the approach to #3, 5, and 9 which has a mostly dry ditch down the right tee shot. #10 left of the green has a scary pond that gobbles up approach shots. 12 has water left and in front of green. Water in…
