In summary

Guildford Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained greens, and good value for money, offering a mix of challenging holes suitable for various skill levels. The course's layout, featuring mature trees and water hazards, adds to its appeal, and the clubhouse provides essential amenities for a relaxed golfing experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow pace of play and course conditions, such as muddy fairways and inadequate yardage markers, which can detract from the overall experience.

For longest time, this course has struggled to regulate pace of play on this course. Last week was the first time I've finished a round there in 4.5 hours and it felt great. I even saw the Course Marshall multiple times on his cart riding around. We were then asked beside the 18th green how the round went pace-wise, just so they made sure the changes they were making were on the right path. For context, I shot a 77 that day even with going 5 over in the first three holes. Please continue these efforts. Your golf course is a hidden gem for people looking to play without breaking the bank. I lo…

The greens were in pretty great shape at this time of year. However, the course was a cow pasture. There was so much mud everywhere even though it was a dry week. I had a 6:30AM round, so I expected it to be a bit more wet than normal, but it was so muddy and it was tough to enjoy the round. You can get much better value this time of year. The round was $46 plus tax, but it was difficult to justify it in the condition the course was in. The person working the pro shop was wonderful though. He was super nice and welcoming.

The golf course offers a well-maintained layout with a mix of challenging holes suitable for all skill levels. The fairways and greens are in good shape, and the mature trees and water hazards add to the course’s appeal. The staff are friendly, and the modest clubhouse provides all the essentials for a relaxed round of golf. It’s a great spot for a casual game in a welcoming environment.

Price going up but the quality is going down. Greens are rough. 10:45 and the drink/food shack at home 10/11 isn't open which is one of the few things that makes this course nice. Ball cleaners with no water in them. Tee boxes need work.

It was my first time playing there. If you're like me and are sensitive to the high power poles, you should be aware that you need to play around those massive poles. The fairway can be a bit rough, and the green speed is approximately 9.

When I complained about a single woman cutting in and playing by herself, the man in the office told me that if I was upset, I should just let it go and enjoy myself. There seems to be no enforcement of rules, no respect for players, and a lack of professionalism in the management. On top of that, the fairways were extremely muddy so you can call Mudford not Guildford. Cheap but you get what you pay for. Never play here again.

To be fair, they stated the greens were being aerated the day we wanted to get around in. The problem arose when the temporary pins were in some places that were just impossible to finish out the hole. The grounds crew needs to revisit their decisions on these placements. I don't recall a discount for the round. Otherwise, seems like a nice place and the staff are friendly. Don't forget to tip the refreshment cart people.

Alicia is the best cart girl!!! She attended with fresh hotdogs and cold drinks at the right time, every time! One of the main reasons we’d come back! Thank you for the great hospitality!

I played in a seniors open on 20 September 2025 and have played in the same event for several years. The course was in great condition compared to many others locally, and I would have rated that at 4.5. The food is what disappointed the most, carvery served on cold plates, which meant when we were given our food it was not that hot, one large plate of extra vegetables for a table of 8, was not enough. The pudding was some sort of apple pie, it was very dry and needed custard, which we did not get. Most people left a some of it. £55 per person is good value but having played many senior opens…

It's good track that you don't have to book way ahead of time. Course conditions are usually mid, but when you're struggling to break 100 like me, it's more than suitable

Absolutely wonderful service by kind and caring staff. We recently held my mother's Celebration of Life at the Guildford Golf & Country Club and were very impressed. They made arranging a sad event simple and worry free. Thank you.
