What People Say

In summary

Hawk Valley Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability and well-maintained greens, offering a good value for casual golfers. The course is now a 9-hole layout, with players repeating the same holes from different tees to complete 18 holes, which some find limiting. While the staff is generally regarded as friendly, there are occasional concerns about course conditions, such as rough areas and under-maintained bunkers, as well as the impact of ongoing real estate development on the course's layout and amenities.

Well I guess you truly get what you pay for, or well at least half. So the first thing that you should know is there is really not 18 holes. No, theres 9 holes that you play twice around, with the tees moved slightly forward or back. These can bee seen in the attached pictures. Another important thing is how narrow the course is. I'm by no means a good golfer, so I spent my fair amount of time in the woods. The course was not in great condition either, but not horrible. The sand traps however we're scarier than the thought of my parents on their honeymoon. I have a picture of this monstrosity…

For what it is- it is an awesome course. $30 for 18 holes and a cart on a Saturday morning. Keep in mind to play 18 holes you're playing the same 9 holes twice, just from different tee boxes. The fairways were well kept the rough was -rough. Bare spots not too much high grass as I think of "the rough"... The greens were well kept and in good condition. The bunkers could have been kept up better- but for $30 I'm not complaining. To those reviews of severe negative conditions: if you're used to Foxchase, Honeybrook, and other 5 star courses, yes this is below the standard of those. But for $30…

If you know what you're expecting, this small course is great. $23.00 for 9 holes and a cart on the weekend, can't beat that. You can play 18 but you're just playing the same 9 holes over again just teeing off from different areas. It wasn't crowded either, so we could play at a good pace and got done in an hour and a half. The fairways were well cut and the greens were in phenomenal shape. The rough was rough. If you're expecting a Country Club experience, this isn't it, but if you're just looking to get out and play and not pay a fortune or play a 6 hour round on a weekend, this place is per…

I've recently started playing at Hawk Valley about 1.5 months ago. I have been playing here once or twice a week and everytime is great. Staff have always been pleasant, and the course is well maintained. It can get a little busy some days but that's most golf courses. I like to go early morning weekdays and it's so relaxing. Shame the course is closing after the summer

I've always liked this course. There is less to lie to recenyly. The front 9 is all homes, play the back 9 twice for 18. They have separate tee spots for the front/back holes by some are only 2-3 yards longer or shorter then the hole was the first time. Only few holes with considerable difference. 2 with completely different tee boxes. The course was in fairly good shape. Could use a trim, especially the rough. It was deep, really deep. Made finding a ball very difficult. Greens were in good shape. Price was good at 20 for 18 at 10am. Course was very busy, took 5 hrs to complete. Stay away fro…

Played 6/2, course in great shape, greens putt slow but that's why they are best I have seen this season. Carts rough but to the job. I was sorry to hear this is the last season being a 18 hole course, latest owners are building homes on the front nine, making it a 9 holer. Met previous owner "Paul" a few years ago when playing there when fairways were more weeds than grass and vowed that it will be a 18 hole course for at least 6 years and when I came back it would be in great shape; he did do that but sold it to a development Co, so it goes in today's Golf world.

A great deal. $12 to walk 9 weekdays (as of 2020). Now a 9 hole course (old back 9). Easy to walk. Rarely crowded. Greens being kept nicely. Hope they hold off the 2nd phase of the development another couple years.

Nice 9 hole course. Greens in great shape, fairways in great shape. It's all on one plot of land so it doesn't meander thru the countryside, but it's tree lined with a nice layout.

Only a nine hole course, but the conditions were extremely good for a public course. Grass in fairways was very nice and overall well maintained. I would go back anytime.

Course is closing at the end of the season for real estate development. Conditions & service is dwindling however they are still charging top $. $50 on weekend. No drinking water on course, fairways and rough burnt out hard pan for the most part. Greens are ok. Buyer beware. 12 cars in the lot mid-day on a Saturday tells the story.

We teed off at 6:38 this morning, what a perfect day, nice breeze and cool temps. Have been playing Hawk for a number of years and hope it will always be there. Have a tee time for Sunday next week can't say enough about the staff.

This place was really nice to go and golf but half of it has now been developed and they will be developing the other side soon. I do not recommend going to it now that its developed. Its not the same without 18 holes.
