Fox Chase Golf Club

Foxchase is our favorite local public course and has been for 30 years. Great layout, so you get a lot of different types of holes to play. Plays very differently from front tees to the tips, so it’s great for every ability level. It’s always kept in excellent shape. One of the nice (or annoying, depending on how you want to call it) challenges is the rough, especially by the greens. It’s thick, so you need to think carefully how to play those shots. Lovely course surrounded by fields. They have a great venue, pro shop, and snack shop / bar. Course is in great condition, and I always enjoy my round of golf.

I’ve played Foxchase Golf Club a couple of times this year and fell in love with the course immediately — it’s one of those tracks that just sticks with you. I recently had a great conversation with a Palmer member about how special this place is, and I made sure to get back out for a fall round while I had the chance. I have been playing at Foxchase for over 30 years and have always felt as part of the family. Since they hired the new grounds keeper, the course has become an excellent venue for this golfer who just doesn't always hit it straight. As a public course, it's ranking as the top course in Lancaster County is well deserved.

Played a round today as a foursome teeing off around 9 a.m. Layout is interesting enough although a little quirky 35-37. That being said, the staff is very friendly and the course was in fantastic shape for any course, let alone an oft played public track. Great job by the superintendent, green keeper, staff, etc. Also, pace of play was great, finishing in just a tick under 4 hours.

Awesome golf course! This is on par with any private club - in fact, I think the greens may be better than most private clubs. Great day sneaking out with my wife on a Monday. The staff was very welcoming as well. Definitely will be back!

Wow!!! What a gem! This is private club quality golf at a reasonable price and is open to the public. The greens here are literally perfect! I played Congressional Country Club early in September and these greens are just as good if not better. And FAST! I'm overly pleased with my experience today. From check in to the range through the entire round, not a single disappointment other than my own golf game!

Great staff, wonderful course, great shape, good price! Holes are challenging, but not crazy, which makes for a fun round. You will experience hitting over water, finding well placed trees, some devilishly placed bunkers, but that makes for a great course. Grab some food after the round in the summer and it will not dissapoint at all. This is also a great venue for a wedding or party - both I door and outdoor options. Now that we've been coming almost weekly, I feel like I'm a member. The staff is beyond gracious and caring for out experience. Love it there!

I took my Dad and son last night for 9 holes. This was our first time here. I love the course and scenery overall. We went in the evening with a 5pm tee time. It was perfect. Greens were well kept and maintained and the pace of play was good. The grass at the tee boxes was a little strange as the tee would go into the ground about an inch and then got really hard, although some holes felt a little spongey in the boxes too. Nothing I ever experienced before but then again I haven't played much. But I already want to go back!

Best conditions of any public course in Lancaster/Lebanon/Berks. Greens roll well consistently, rough is lush, golf course stays firm year round. Sand traps are only real area for improvement. Great course for locals and worthy of a turnpike trip if you’re not too far.
