In summary

Highland Park Golf Club receives mixed feedback from visitors. Many appreciate the friendly staff, affordable rates, and the challenging layout, particularly the elevated tee boxes and variety in hole lengths. However, several guests express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing issues with drainage, unkempt bunkers, and rough cart paths. While some visitors enjoy the improvements under new management, others feel the course requires significant upgrades to enhance the overall playing experience.

This is what you get at this golf course right now. You can’t get through without your clothes and cart getting drenched in mud. You will also be targeted and harassed repeatedly by starters they have hired to police the course. Today they repeatedly stopped me on the course , multiple times, re-asking to see my receipt because I was riding with my children. This is the second visit I experienced the same treatment. They do not want us to play here and that has been clear.

For many years I passed by this golf course on my way to Canterbury Golf club to caddy and never really investigated on why the parking lot was always so empty and looked like the place was in disrepair. Well I decided to check Highland Park out and realized it was just under bad, poor old management and it is now under new management and they are doing an amazing job bringing this historical golf course back to life. They have 36 holes and I played the blue course. Their club has clean bathroom, they have a new golf pro and they apparently just got their first set of cart girls. This is the e…

Worst course I've played in 20 years. Actually I can't think of anything worse. Greens have areas that look like the rough. Swamps on almost every hole. They haven't picked up a single branch from the winds 2 weeks ago. It's a prime example of a management team doing nothing except grabbing as much cash as they can. $26 to walk 18 as a senior...and that's the winter rate!! Pitiful.

I think Google Review should set up a 0 score. I’m writing to express how upset I am about the way my son was treated by one of your employees, Mark, at the Highland Park Golf Course. My son recently went to the new driving range, and no one told him that drivers weren’t allowed to be used there. When I asked Mark about it afterward, instead of explaining the policy politely, he was extremely rude and even called my son a “smartass.” A week later, my son went back to the course just to play golf, not to use the range, and Mark met my son and made another sarcastic remark, saying, “Are you happ…

Alright everyone saying this course is the worst course in Ohio is being a little over dramatic. Its fine. I played the blue course. The fairways aren't the best, they are slightly worse than Metropark courses. The greens are good. The cart path is in rough shape. Its better just to drive on the grass. The layout is pretty cool, I love elevated tee boxes and they have a few. Lots of challenging uphill greens. Theres no turn after 9 holes, which is really wierd and does stink. IDK how they make sure you dont play 18 without paying. The club house is extremely nice, but the bathrooms are terribl…

I'm from out of town and wanted to play a quick round with my son. We had a really good time. The guy running the pro shop was great. There were some areas under construction, but nothing intrusive. Best of all, they don't charge an arm and a leg!

Considering the place is in the middle of construction (and a lot is needed), I enjoy playing here regularly. The staff is nice and the clubhouse is inviting. The young lady at the pro shop was very professional and friendly. There is always something new and improved every time I play. Sometimes it's not on the courses but the accommodations.

course plays a bit long from the white tee box. Only 1 par 3 & par 5, per side. Greens are tricky. Traps need a bit more wrk. Overall I'd rate the course 3 stars!

Nice greens. Sand traps are like concrete in many cases. Poor drainage leaves multiple traps like mini lakes after watering and very bad after rain storms. Multiple fairways need to be reseeded as they are nothing but dirt in many spots.

I haven't been to this course in 10 years. They are improving by leaps and bounds. What an enjoyable 9 holes. Fairways we're good, greens had been aerated recent but putted rather true.

This place used to be my sanctuary while I was an undergrad at JCU. I came back recently to catch a round with some friends and couldn’t believe how bad the course was. It seems like they were trying to do renovations but just gave up. The course was borderline unplayable, and they charged $30 for 9, which is laughable. Save your time and money.
