In summary

Perinton Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its interesting and challenging layout, friendly staff, and affordable pricing, making it a fun place to play, especially for those with an open mind about its current state. However, many visitors note that the course conditions are rough, with issues like bumpy greens and poorly maintained tee boxes, as the new owners work to improve the grounds after years of neglect. While some find the membership deals appealing, others criticize the course's overall upkeep and pricing compared to other local options.

TL;DR: I like the course. It’s currently (summer 2025) in rough shape, but if you can go in with that expectation, want to play a different/interesting/challenging course, and want to support the new owner/management who’s working hard to save one of our local courses, give it a visit! Here’s the basis for my rating: -4 Condition: Although completely understandable since this place has been closed for years and minimally maintained prior to that, the conditions are pretty much the worst you’ll find in the area. Especially the greens: slow and bumpy with bare spots. There’s lots of brown gras…

Going in with an open mind, they haven't been open for awhile and are now owned by new owners. The grounds are nice and the I like the way the greens are split across. The staff are attentive, nice and the greens are lovely! They have benches, ball washers and trash cans at every hole. They have drinks and snacks inside the shop. 9 holes is $25 and 18 is $35! $5 for cart. I enjoyed riding along ($5) for fun. This place will stay really nice as more people find out they're open. Get in now!!

I've visited almost weekly for the last couple months. While there are some rough spots, every week I have seen improvements the new owners are implementing. The staff have been friendly and there is a mixture of challenging narrow doglegs mixed with wider straight holes. The price is the best around. I rated 4 stars due to its current condition with a few rough greens and tee boxes but its definitely headed in the right direction and I look forward to playing here often as they continue to improve the course.

Reviews should reflect the reality of the experience. This course was left for dead, for years. The new owners are making serious investments to bring it back. The green fees are affordable, the staff are great, and the course if fun to play. If you love golf and have an open mind this is a great place to play. It is not Oak Hill, or Eagle Vale, it's the first season after basically starting over. It's also a great place to bring kids to learn how to play the game at a pace that is enjoyable. Give it a chance, be realistic. You will enjoy it.

Tee boxes are in rough shape and the fairways are not fairways. Definitely needs the renovations. Not worth the $45 for 18 holes.

The people were nice, but the condition of the course was the worst I've seen in the area. Aside from a few holes on the back nine the layout is poor also. Having several 90 degree dogleg that require wedge then 3 iron is not very enjoyable.

Bad Deal and Bad Golf Course I was a member at this course for several years. Originally joined on one of the “deals” they offer from time to time. I paid $150.00 for unlimited walking golf back in 2011. As expected the rates went up over time but when it got to $675 and then $850 it’s just NOT worth it. The newer memberships come with “strings”. First it was unlimited carts at $675, then only carts for 25 times for $850 because they said the cart privileges we “abused”. How do you ABUSE something they CHARGED you for. Besides that the course is a dump. I would rate it at the bottom of all pu…

I joined Perinton G&CC as a member this past summer (June 2012) - the deal was too good to pass up, and I re-uped again for next year. I can't understand where the negative reviews are coming from. I have met a number of great people there who also took advantage of the great membership deal. I found the family that runs the course to be very friendly, courteous and very helpful to the members - I like them. I really like this course - there are a number of challenging holes, as well as a few 'easier' holes (although I still manage to mess up on them too...). Contrary to one of the reviews, ea…

They need an influx of money, this was at one time a premier course with members, pool, dining etc. It is so sad to see it in this condition. I hope they survive and someone steps in to bring this course back.

This course is a dump. Ask the owners how they lost 50+ members at the end of the 2017 season. That one is a knee slapper!
