What People Say

In summary

River Island Country Club is praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, scenic views, and friendly staff, making it a favorite among many golfers. The club has undergone significant improvements, particularly with the greens and clubhouse, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted that certain areas of the course and the driving range still require attention, and there have been occasional concerns about service in the restaurant.

Greens need some time to grow in. Fairways are okay. It's a pretty scenic course and that makes it enjoyable for me.

Hands down best scenery in the valley during the winter spring time. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is their range is trash. Like hitting balls into a an empty dirt field. To make matters worse they have 2-3 makeshift targets and no cart to collect balls, which they compensate for by closing the range extremely early. As someone who lives close by it’s disappointing that I can’t go hit balls here after work.

They did a lot of work getting this golf course to where it was and added some really fluffy sand. There’s a few greens that still need a lot work like 11, 14. Some patches of dirt on the fairway. But for the most part very playable for me and a difficult course due to lots of water and hazards. The food is average. I got the bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato does. The meat was too well done for my liking. They don’t ask how you well you want your patty cooked. I recommend early tee time since when I finished, the 1st hole was backed up to about 4/5 carts. Will be coming back soon since it’s…

Very beautiful challenging course. A lot of upgrades being done at the moment to the Pro shop and Club House. But it's still open and has some amazing views of the course. The Floods a few years back did take a toll on it which caused them to shut down but it is definitely worth getting out there now. A little bit of work still getting done on some holes but nothing that would take away from the experience. Definitely worth the little drive for myself coming from Visalia.

River Island is a pretty challenging course from tee to green. This course use to be in very great shape, the fairways need a lot of work. The greens are still well kept roll true and smooth. It’s very hard to get a tee time unless there low temperatures, then the course is all yours in the morning.

It’s a beautiful course. Very well kept. Staff is awesome. Lots of carvings throughout the course that are amazing. Would definitely recommend playing here!

The food was delicious, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. While the prices are on the higher side, you could find other great restaurants at more reasonable rates here in Springville. However, the overall experience was fantastic and well worth it.

Just played here last week, and they did a great job recovering the course from the storms. The course is in really good shape, the ground around the greens were still a little unlevel. They also offer first responder discounts. It's a fun challenging course, go out and play it!

We were members of River Island County Club before the big storm in 2023. A group of us (15 people) decided to go up and play a round on Thursday. We were pleased to see the course was in good shape but obviously still a work in progress. You can tell that the new owner/owners have put a lot of work into it. So after enjoying our round of golf, we decided to stay and have a late lunch like we used to. This part of our trip was not very good. The staff in the bar section was somewhat rude. It took about 15 minutes for her to give us a menu and then another 15 minutes or so to come back to take…

This is a hidden gem in the south valley. It's a challenging course with elevation changes throughout. Definitely worth the drive for a diverse golf course. And the staff have always been great every time I play there.
