In summary

Porterville Municipal Golf Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, reasonable prices, and well-maintained greens, making it a suitable choice for beginners and intermediate players. The course layout, including a practice range and driving range, is generally enjoyed, though some visitors mention issues with course maintenance, such as patchy fairways and bumpy greens. A few reviewers express concerns about the lack of marshals leading to slow play and etiquette issues, while others note the need for improved facilities and equipment.

I think this is a great golf course! It only has 9 holes but the staff keep the greens nice and level, the staff are always happy to assist your needs. As well, the other locals on the course, (players), are very courteous to play with. Their public bathrooms were nice and clean. And the overall course was well maintained. Thanks p-ville golf crew and fellow golfers for a good experience and for presenting us a golf course that's worth playing, AND in town! Also,..I like the driving range and the practice golf putting range out by the main office. A nice warmup before I get serious. (:

Good fun course for beginners and intermediate players. Whole 8 & 9 are fun. Had to keep my head on a swivel on a Sat afternoon. I got hit up on 3 times while I was on the t box.

Nice course. Great prices! Only issue was they had a tournament, so it was busy as heck! We got there early, but still had to skip multiple holes to get ahead of the tournament...

Wife and I have had a family membership here for 3 months after relocating to the area. Had a group of 9 (yes 9) people jump ahead of us because they did not want to wait on first tee. We get jumped every time we play here. No marshals, no rules, no enforcement. Mostly younger players that want to smoke their weed and yes, you will smell it, and play their loud music close by when you are teeing off. Absolutely no etiquette. NONE. It’s a fiasco. Saw 2 people about to throw blows in a fight right outside the clubhouse screaming and threatening for 10 minutes and no one inside did anything. This…

The pro shop was helpful and friendly they also had an ice chest to go with your favorite drink last but not least the course was well kept and challenging (Alfred Guajardo)

Nice course, but it needs a marshal. There is a lot of large groups that slow up other players sometimes 3 1/2 hours to play nine holes not very good.

Course has a lot of potential. The groundskeeping is a bit ragged and you really cannot tell the fairways from the rough. Can be challenging with elevation changes and never really having a flat lie.

Pile of HOT garbage!!! Anyone who has rated this course above one star has either never played golf before or has only ever played at this garbage course. We were in from out of town and stopped to play 18. We pulled up and saw that the irrigation must have been broken because the “fairways” were almost completely dirt. Where there wasn’t dirt, there dry dead grass or green crabgrass patches. The greens were the length of most course’s first cut rough and, unless I hadn’t seen the lawn mowers, I wouldn’t have believed that this “course” owned any. Also, if you haven’t heard of top dressing, a…

I've played here a dozen or so times. The only thing that has brought this score down is the employees I have come across, or haven't come across...club shop was closed a few times and we had to wait, or we were given carts that died after a few holes. I know it's a little municipal but these are easy fixes.

The cart would not hold a bag. Dropped my clubs on the ground twice. I told the absolutely stupid kids they have running the place and all they could say was," oops to bad". This used to be a good place to come, but it has gone down hill. Please find anyone that can have a brain, and hold a conversation. No one cares about anything here anymore.
