In summary

River Oaks Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting along the river, accommodating staff, and affordable pricing, with special deals like two-for-one Tuesdays. The course layout, particularly the back nine, is often highlighted for its enjoyable and challenging design. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about maintenance issues, particularly with the driving range and certain areas of the course, as well as frustrations with tee time policies and the condition of range balls.

We held our daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday Celebration in their spacious Event Tent on May 24th and River Oaks Golf Course & Event Center. The staff was very helpful and accommodating during the planning, staging, and decorating steps that led up to a Fantastic evening with family members and friends. The site easily accommodated our 100+ person guest list. Parking was easily accessible and the views over the golf course, looking across the bottom 9 holes ⛳️ alongside the river, provided great photo opportunities for our guests as the sun was setting in the evening. The staff and this beautiful…

It's been a few years since I played River Oaks. We played the top 9 and were surprised at the longer holes. It was fun, and it gave us extra steps. Love that today was 2 for 1 play. We will be back. Half price senior day on Tuesdays.

Fun course and pretty cheap compared to courses in Sacramento. Staff was friendly but some of the people that play the course—meh. Cranky people exist everywhere, though. I wish the grass was more kept up but it’s honestly not bad here. You can get a decent game in and have a laugh with some pretty decent people! Driving range is nice. Not bad at all!!

This place is TERRIBLE! No grass on the range. They have mats but they are very firm. Half of my range balls in a medium bucket were cracked or very scuffed up. The chipping and putting greens look absolutely terrible and again are very firm. I didn’t even want to play the course anymore. Looking down at the back 9 I could tell #11 hasn’t been taken care of for a very long time. The “grass” around the green is all mud and I saw a gentleman almost slip and fall around that area just trying to get to his golf ball. This place doesn’t know what they are doing and I’d happily take my business anyw…

Good course and driving range. Greens on the front nine are a little messed up but the back nine was really well kept. Staff are friendly and they have a lot in the club house. They have carts if needed and the course isn't bad to walk if you want to. All in all was a nice course and a good day.

Do not play the back 9. They tell you it’s okay to play and the river is barely flooded. It’s a waste of money. Literally can’t play 4 of the holes on the back. They don’t tell you that. I’d rather not get 150 dollar shoes dirty than play the back 9 at a 5 dollar discount and get mud all over everything. You are better off not playing at all. They need to close it till the rivers go down instead of taking our money and acting like it’s okay with a 5 dollar discount. Waste of money

Seriously the driving range used to have great grass and now in last few months all dirt, then put some grass mats down that are what look like picked up from the trash, and small, golf balls are well past their life. Man what a shame. I will now drive to St Stans for range time.

I like River Oaks a lot, great course, pretty chill vibe around the place and it’s priced about right. The front 9 is entirely par 3s and not in the best shape but I love the back 9 down along the River. Pretty well taken care of course and I like the grass range. Putting green is very nice and you can chip. If the front 9 were in better shape I’d probably come play 18 on the weekends more but I love stopping on my way home from work for the back 9 at twilight, really beautiful down there as you’re coming up on sunset.

They have fixed up the place and moved some of the tee-off spots. #18 is a problem! I don't know why they moved the tee-box, but now you have to tee off 5' from some TALL weeds. Either cut the weeds or move the tee-box back to where it's supposed to be. How about fill the ball washers and get some NEW shoe brushes! It's the little things that make a difference. 👞 👟

Great course with front nine great for your irons and decent holes on the back for your bigger clubs. Very well taken care of course, clubhouse staff is friendly and accommodating. Especially nice where you can see them improving the course and making some of the holes longer. Will be back many more times. Great driving range as well!

Amazing time, always friendly staff and course is in great shape. Greens are rolling well making putting fun, compared to other area courses. -great deals to be had still too, like the buy one get one round on Tuesday's still and great snack and drink prices for before or after your round. Great chipping and putting green too to work on your game and the driving range is huge and they have lights for some night practice after work!
