What People Say

In summary

Roundel Glen Golf Course is praised for its unique setting on a military base, offering golfers the rare experience of seeing aircraft take off and land while playing. The course is noted for its challenging layout, with tight fairways and small, fast greens, making it more suitable for experienced golfers. While the staff is generally described as friendly and welcoming, some visitors have experienced issues with slow play and occasional rudeness from staff or club members. Additionally, the presence of wild parsnip and poison ivy in the rough is a concern for some players.

Very unique but amazing course. Not many places you can be teeing off while watching military planes take off. The staff is friendly, Brandon is the best and is always extra smiley while driving the range picker.

Just though I would write a review for those who have never played here before .. This is a amazing course with great staff . Keep in mind this is the most difficult course in the area to play . If you hit a shot sideways or have a slice you will loose a ball every time . Each hole is tight with long grass surrounding every hole . There is no spraying the ball here or you are in for a unenjoyable round . We have three sets of tees , the blues are for scratch golfers , whites are for players who play in the 80's and can hit the ball a min of 250 off the tee to enjoy the course. The reds are for…

Good course but long. Not for beginners. If you hit it into the rough, 50/50 chance of finding it. Also, lots of poison ivy and wild parsnip. It is expensive for what it is. Go if you have a coupon or passes.

I recently learned that Roundel Glen might close or be reduced to 12 holes as CFB Trenton is appropriating some of the land the course is on for development, so I had to play it. The course was designed by my grandfather (1959) Albert Murray, a storied Canadian pro golfer and course architect. The project was facilitated by one of his sons, a Flight Commander at CFB Trenton. With little money and a volunteer work crew, Albert lived on the base while he was laying out the course. The land he had to work with was small, mostly flat, and nestled right beside the runways on some of the holes which…

An enjoyable course to play. Have been out here three times this summer and found it to be challenging enough but also forgiving. Pace of play very good, walked it, and the greens and fairways in above average condition. Pleasant people in the Pro shop who made you feel welcome. It's an airbase course so don't expect to play a round without seeing an aircraft or two. For the money, absolutely one of the best buys in the Quinte area.

We had a great time here. The course was very nice and even though busy moved through well without feeling rushed.

If you play this course familiarize yourself with the look of the leaves of young Wild Parsnips as this noxious plant is along every fairway. There are warning signs at every hole but the picture only shows the tops of blooming Wild Parsnips which happens in August. The sap from this plant is the same as in poison ivy, do not go trudging through the rough looking for your ball unless you know how to identify this plant - it's everywhere!

My grandfather built this course with an extremely limited military budget. He took alot of pride making it what it is today. Reading all the comments is amazing. I had my first golf bag here at the age of 3. I honestly can't wait to get back to ontario to play it. Hope everyone had an amazing golf season.

Very nice course for the money. The rough was a little burnt, but the fairways and greens were in great shape! Enjoyable round, with enough difficulty to make sure you are challenged, but not too frustrated.

Well kept course but start times need to be adjusted... Currently 7 min stagger for each start on a 1st hole that averages 12 minutes to play so your backed up and waiting right from the get go! If not for the constant wait at each hole I'd give a 5 star

Pleasant staff. Nice "old school" layout with tree lined fairways on most holes. Back nine must be closed from time to time because of military operations. Great place to play if you like watching airplanes coming and going.

Fun course, alot of dog legs. Well kept, challanging. Did alot of waiting at the tee though, also if you hit right on 18, your ball gets mixed up in range balls and feels dangerous looking for your ball. I just dropped one to avoid being struck by driving range
