What People Say

In summary

Starke Country Club receives praise for its friendly staff, affordable pricing, and a well-laid-out course that appeals to both beginners and seasoned players. Many appreciate the improvements under new management, although some visitors express concerns about the condition of the greens and the absence of tee times, which can lead to slow play and availability issues. While the course offers a pleasant experience for those looking to practice their game, some suggest further enhancements to the greens and facilities to elevate the overall experience.

Giving 5 cause the value and the staff is very friendly, can't complain. I understand the course is in a work in progress I play almost every weekend and have seen major improvements. Keep working staff! My only complaint is the pace of play sometimes, which normally I'm not even worried about pace of play, I understand it's first come first serve and I actually like the first come first serve, but sometimes a full 18 goes 4-5 hours. Just wish people would recognize when to let people play through. Maybe have a staff member drive around every so often and see if players are okay with the pace.

I like the layout. Fairways are pretty wide open and well maintained. The staff is friendly. Nice driving range. It's a pretty nice experience...until you get on the greens. I would have better luck putting in the parking lot or a gravel driveway. Who maintains them, Stevie Wonder?? Where there is grass, the greens are nice. Only problem is, 30% - 50% of most of the greens is dirt. Looks like they were cut with a grader rather than a mower!

I really want to like this course!! It is a convenient location for me. It is easy to drop by after work on my way home. I played it yesterday for the first time in over a year and was very disapointed. I have always liked the layout of this course. Most of the wholes are wide open but still challenging. The greens have been ok in the past but yesterday's condition dont even count as greens. Also, I have noticed on days that I use the driving range sometimes you will have groups of 6 or more people teeing off together. There doesn't seem to be any management of tee times. I haven't even mentio…

Shut the place down all ur customers do is treat the area like a racetrack nothing is safe anymore around here and y'all condone it! I despise this place completely since the change! Noone even walks anymore because of y'all's ignorant customers flying down the road giving it hell all day long. Don't y'all sell alcohol? Maybe they should start doing DUI checks at the stop signs on top of issuing many speeding tickets!

Great course under new management. Base on price and course I rate it 5. Great course for us snowbirds who want to knock the rust off our games. Friendly people. The owner is a very nice young man working hard to bring the course back. It is an easy walking course so it helps with the daily steps.

I was really looking forward to playing today… but I was waiting for over 2 hours for a cart to be available before I left, I came all the way from Jacksonville so I feel as if my time was wasted, your policy of no tee times is the dumbest thing ever. I will not come back until you get more carts and add tee times.

This is a great course--mind you I'm a beginner--and it is well maintained. My son and I golfed there recently and had a really enjoyable experience. The price was excellent was the service.

The layout of this course is nice. The placement of your shots is very imports on several holes in order for you to have a good round. The doglegs are doglegs and the greens are tight. It is under new management and from what I understand, the course is vastly improved. The greens are not the best, but that is a challenge in itself. They state new sand is going to be added to the bunker and the cart paths are scheduled for improvements. It is a challenging course you will enjoy with the mature trees and small rivers throughout play. Five stars when the bunkers, cart paths and sand is compl…

Friendly staff. Price was great would have spent more at the driving range. Go for practicing all your clubs except your putter. If your driving on US 301 swing into town and support LOCAL businesses. It was a good way the spend a couple of hours before getting back on the road.

Y'all need to get your act together and change your recording when you're open. That would require you to change your voicemail at 6 am

Played today. The greens are just horrible. 9 out 9 are in bad shape. It's a shame because not too long ago they in better condition. Sorry, just being honest.
