In summary

Sweetgrass Golf Club is highly praised for its immaculate course conditions, challenging yet fair layout, and well-maintained greens and fairways. The course offers a variety of memorable holes, including the notable island par 3, and provides excellent amenities and friendly staff. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play and occasional restrictions on using the driving range.

Sweetgrass Golf Club is an amazing course with great conditions. There aren't any breathtaking views but a lot of good views with great golf design. The double green on 9 and 18 isn't unique but really works in this setup. Love the wide fairways. Greens are undulating and fast. Hole 4 and 13 are really challenging. Overall, best course in upper Michigan even better than Graywalls.

Oh my, it all starts with the drive in...wow. It was my favorite course of the 4 we played up there. It was in emaculate shape. Played tough but fair both times. Tricky pin placements on a couple holes. Greens were in great shape, hard, fast and very few ball marks. Kudos to the superintendent and his crew!👍Practice area is huge and has it all!

Partnering up with Sage Run for a stay and play package of one night and two rounds of golf, one round at each course. At $150 for the package, it is an absolute steal! Both are really good courses. Sweet Grass is incredibly well maintained and immaculate!

Ask anyone that’s familiar with golf in Michigan where you can find the best courses in the state, and you may be surprised at the answers you get. Gaylord is always near the top of the list as is Kalamazoo – home to Gull Lakeview Resort and its six courses. But if you really want to play the best Michigan has to offer, you’ll have to go north, past Gaylord and Traverse City, over the Mackinac Bridge. Once you go over the bridge, take Route 2 West until you hit Harris, MI. Follow the signs to The Island Resort & Casino and you’re at the home of two golf courses you won’t soon forget: Sweetgras…

Booked a fall stay and play package. The course was in great condition. The course is challenging, yet fair. The fairways are fairly wide and there are no blind tee offs.

Always a fun course to play. Tons of risk reward holes. Definitely a course you will want to play more than once.

Pretty good course, not too hard, not easy either. Pace of play was atrocious however and there aren’t any rangers around to say otherwise. The holes with flair are definitely memorable, you’ll get it when you see them.

Great course that is very well maintained and fun to play. Really weird rule that you can't pay to use the driving range the day before tee time. They say it's because it gets too busy but it was empty every time we went by hit.

From the course conditions, pro shop staff, starter shack staff, on course amenities, food, and everything in between this place was tremendous! I highly recommend this course if you’re in the Upper Peninsula! The course uses EASTERN TIME, be aware of time change if coming from central time zone!

Fantastic course! In great shape. Very long, play the right tees or it will be a difficult day.
