In summary

Escanaba Country Club receives praise for its friendly staff, well-maintained course, and enjoyable food offerings, particularly in the clubhouse. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the course layout, pricing inconsistencies, and certain staff interactions, which detracted from their overall experience. While many find the course fun and well-managed, others suggest exploring nearby alternatives for a more satisfying round of golf.

Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Recommend I rarely leave negative reviews, but Escanaba Country Club was such a letdown that I felt compelled to share. The course itself feels more like a small, fenced-in backyard than a proper golf course—tight, unremarkable, and not worth the time or money. What made things worse was the behavior of one of the staff members, Tyler. He accused our group of lighting fireworks (which we absolutely did not do) and approached us not once, but three separate times during our round. It completely ruined the experience and made us feel unwelcome. Honestly, I’…

Things were going great until hole 13, when we were approached by someone claiming to be a staff member—but looked more like he just stumbled over from the county carnival. Instead of a calm conversation, we got a full-blown sideshow act, complete with attitude and a flair for chaos. Had I not been calculating escape routes, I would’ve happily hit the bar, had a few drinks, and tipped the super friendly staff. 🇺🇸 💣 🧨 🎆

We had a group of 10 and I think every person was charged a different amount? Didn’t make much sense really. I guess only 1 of 2 were charged for the cart but both still rode so I don’t know how much sense that made. Course really hugged the property lines, there’s really much better courses out there for the money.

🧨 Golf - Overpriced for an unkept “country club”. One staff member went looney tunes mode which led to our group leaving the course for our own safety. Hate to see it. 📉 🍻 Bar - The bar is clean and comfortable. The gal bartending was incredibly friendly and accommodating. 📈 ⛳️ Next steps - Go straight to Highland Golf Course. Fair prices, closer to the casino and 100x better all around. Staff is incredibly fun! 🇺🇸

Was told over phone $40 for 18 holes because half the course was closed due to soggy conditions. When I arrived I was forced to pay $58 if I wanted to play. Overall course conditions were decent. Definitely not worth 58 on a good day. Lastly, never felt so excluded in a clubhouse restaurant than in this one. Couldn't get the bartender to give me a straight answer on when you can have food. Dining area was closed then filled with people then not able to serve food. My overall advice is there are better courses friendlier people for better prices than this one and I've traveled New York to here…

Staff was nice, carts worked nice. Course itself is a little boring, pretty much just straight shooting but not bad overall.

Most disappointing tournament ever played in. Who ever set the tournament up totally took the women out of the tournament. Tee boxes were worse than ridiculous. Tried to talk to the pro but all he did was argue. If 30 terms play and 29 say there is a problem there probably is , we've played in this tournament for 10 years it always been one of our favorites, however we will never come back and will advise our golfing friends of the way we were treated. How ever you know what runs down hill. He works for you why did you let him ruin such a wonderful tournament?

The Escamaba Country Club has the best fish fry in the state. And the pork chops are to die for. Great wait staff.

Green fee were high, fairways were bumpy and brown. Golf carts were dirty and old, club house was also dated.
