In summary

The Virtues Golf Club is widely praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, which features a mix of mountain and park-style holes with stunning views and well-maintained grounds. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the reasonably priced amenities, including the restaurant and practice facilities. However, some guests have noted issues with slow pace of play, outdated golf carts lacking GPS, and occasional maintenance concerns, which can detract from the overall experience.

The golf? Couldn’t tell you. The Lenten fish and chips on a Friday in February yeh I got that. Hiking local Black Hand Gorge we needed lunch and this overlook restaurant was super close and open to the public. This time of year on a weekday of course pretty much looked deserted but we called ahead. We really were prepared for just “doable” meal under those circumstances. Wrong! Fish and chips fresh made and really tasty - spot on, with a great host and wait staff. Thank you for our lunch you guys were a breath of fresh air on a sunny February day!

This is a beautiful course with amazing views. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how little it cost to play off season. I highly recommend booking yourself a tee time and playing this amazing, but difficult course.

This course is awesome all around. A good mix of mountain-style holes with some flatter park-style holes. Nothing else like it in the area. The greens are incredibly fast and the grounds are always well kept. Rangers monitor pace of play with GPS and will come out and tell offending parties to hurry up when it gets slow. I will say that the course is challenging and can make it less enjoyable for higher handicap golfers, but still a great experience to see the great views!

First time I've been here in a couple years. Have always loved the layout here and the difficulty of the course. Course had always been in superb conditions and the pace of play was always pretty good, don't think I've ever had to wait on players. This experience was a little disappointing, course wasn't in as great of shape as in the past. Some weeds growing among the playing areas, greens were beat up bad with ball marks. Then we waited all day from hole #2 til we finished on the group in front of us. Between 5-5 1/2 hrs. Found out that the group in front of us were members so I'm assuming t…

Had an awesome day at Virtues Golf Club! We got through 18 holes at a good pace thanks to the 10 minute tee time spacing, which really kept things moving. The course itself was in fantastic shape fairways were pristine and the greens were lightning fast (challenging but fun!) The pro shop was excellent, and the halfway house at the turn had great food, the deli sandwich, brat, and hotdog all hit the spot. A nice bonus is that when you purchase a weekend round at full price, they include a golf towel and free range balls, which was a great touch. One small heads up: the carts don’t have the b…

My bothers wedding reception was held here. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Was a wonderful place to have a celebration. The catered food was good and the staff were very friendly. Also had a beautiful area for photo ops.

The good: the course is beautiful and was in great condition with fast greens. The cart guys were very helpful. The bad: the cart paths are terrible in most places, there is no gps on the carts and our cart would shudder and lurch to get going and then felt like it was wallowing down the fairway. For the price paid I would have expected better .

Played 8/9/25 for the first time. Price is way too high to not have better carts with GPS. Pace of play was atrocious, with starter asking us to pick it up somehow, when literally 2 couples were in front of us playing from different tee boxes and taking way over pace. I give the 4 stars due to the course itself, with its layout and character it is fantastic. Was cool to get a cheap little divot tool/towel/small bag of range balls. Unfortunately, will not plan to return due to the pace/cost/carts outdated. It’s definitely a cool destination course, but the price is tough 130$ on weekend and pac…

We were looking for a top course that could be a day trip from Cincinnati and decided the 2.5 hr to Virtues was the winner. To say we had an amazing day is an understatement! As a rider for many public courses, I was pleased to learn there was no additional charge for me to be on the course! My golfer enjoyed the bag of practice balls provided and the great practice facility to warm up on. We will definitely be back to Virtues!

Impeccable in all aspects Beautiful and very challenging! Loved it! Definitely will be back!!!! Played again this year! Exceptional condition of tees, fairways and greens! The greens were lighting fast though and the pin placement seemed like Sunday tournament positions...brutal if you are on wrong side of hole!! The staff was great! Professional and very friendly! Will definitely come back next year!

Played in middle of August 2024. Layout is incredible. Great views, lots of elevation changes, and routing mixed throughout the forest and countryside. Really doesn’t feel like you’re in Ohio. The layout is a 10/10 and is likely why the course is rated top 100 by Golf Digest. Considering its reputation, I thought the conditions were good, but not immaculate - I’d give it more like a 7 or 8 out of 10. Tee boxes were in great shape, but there was lots of grass clippings in the fairway on certain holes. They keep the course pretty soft. Greens weren’t slow, but weren’t as fast as I would expect…

Was in town for work and this was one of the top 100 public courses to play in the country and the only one in Ohio . It was a really nice course and well taken care of all all of the holes were unique . They got me out right away. The only issue and I guess it’s partly my fault for not just grabbing someone before I is they told me there was a cart girl but I never saw her till 15 so I had nothing to drink or eat the I got to the snack shack at 10. It was a super hot day and I had to play the front nine with nothing .
