In summary

The Windermere Club is praised for its challenging Pete Dye-designed layout, scenic views, and friendly staff, with many enjoying the course's unique features and atmosphere. While the greens are often highlighted as being in excellent condition, some visitors express concerns about the maintenance of fairways, bunkers, and cart paths, as well as the outdated golf carts. Despite these issues, the overall experience is generally positive, with many players appreciating the course's potential and the welcoming environment.

It's a Pete dye course it is challenging. Long par threes for sure.. The course was in relatively good shape. The greens I thought were fantastic. There's a few bunkers now I'm not going to lie. I wish the bunkers were a little better. Didn't quite like the sand and I'm pretty good at getting out of bunkers and there's bunkers in places that make you hit it in certain spots and then there's some bunkers you really really don't want to be in LOL. But overall this course was nice. The staff was super friendly. It has some pretty views on some pretty holes. It's challenging. It's tight in spots b…

Nice golf course. The front nine is more challenging than the back nine. There are great holes along and over the huge lake this course is around. Some of the fairways are tighter than others. The carts need updated with the GPS systems, but otherwise in very good shape. The clubhouse has good food and great looking products, although I did not buy anything this trip there. I really enjoyed this course and think you will too. It is a hard course for a beginner, so bring lots of golf balls as you will probably lose some. For the novice it is more challenging on the front nine. Good course overa…

Decent experience all around. The fairway are in relatively okay shape for probably 15 of 18 holes and the greens were fast/challenging. Tee boxes were pretty beat up and so was the driving range. A plus was that there were just buckets of balls for practice before the round and we were also able to get off on time even though there was a tournament. It was a spring Saturday and there was no beverage cart going around and the guy working the desk at check in acted like he was doing us a favor by taking our money and allowing us to golf on his course (I'm saying this in the nicest way possible)…

Just played this course today. 09/21/2025 The greens are in fantastic shape. The lay out of the course is what you would expect from the designer. Now the bad. Our golf cart died on us twice. The golf carts need a serious update. The fairways are in 5/10 condition. Tee boxes are in 6/10 condition. Course didn’t have a starter and no ranger to monitor pace of play.

If I lived on this golf course I would be so angry. The golf course knew they had a PKB girls tournament with 20 plus girls. They tried to only allow 4 spectator carts for the entire tournament. Then they gave people carts and flat out said it would probably die before the girls finished. So they charged $25 for a cart barely hanging on for dear life. Our cart didn’t even make it to the driving range and back. Second cart only lasted 6 holes and the parking break was shot. Third cart made it the rest of the round and died coming off 18 and it didn’t have any breaks. The course was like a goat…

Amazing golf course, and the people/members made the vibes even better. Truly loved the layout, the visuals, and the atmosphere of The Windermere. The Golf Pro Will is incredibly cool to talk to, yet knowledgable about the game, and local happenings in the area. Tons of respect and smiles once I walked in. I recommend golfing here, as well as taking time out your day to enjoy the atmosphere and people. I fell in love with the course instantly. Jules in the bar is also a great person to connect with when you need a solid snack on the turn! Thanks again from the groundskeeping crew, all the way…

Had an absolute blast here. Great course in great shape. Very nice practice greens and driving range right by the 1st hole which was super convenient. The staff was so friendly, Will in the clubhouse took great care of me and kept an eye on my luggage for me since I was flying out after the round. I forgot the name of one of the course attendants but he drove by as I was scoping out a hole with a hidden green (my first time playing this course) and he gave me advice about how to play the hole which led to an easy par on the 1 handicap hole. Had a 10 ft birdie putt but I’ll save my rants about…

Found a new worst place to add to my reprotoire. 2 stars because it has decent potential. Burnt up weeds is best way to described this place. The clubhouse smells like grandpa's musty closet. Best part was it only took me an hour and half to get back in the car and on my way. I'm adding pictures of how high the weeds are on the tee box. That's a 7 iron and the weeds are 20 inches up the shaft..that's not a typo...almost 2 feet high. The "fairway" isn't any better. Hard clay. No grass, just weeks. My front yard look way better then this. The greens however are better good. So if the golf car…

What a club! We had such a blast with the layout. The maintenance could definitely be better (esp cart paths). Pete Dye course with tons of undulations and water. You can play smart to score or risk it for the biscuit. Giving 5 stars for what could be at this beautiful location.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been playing Windermere on and off for over 20 years, and I’ve got to say—my most recent visit 7/22/2025 was a *pleasant surprise*. The last time I played here, the course was really struggling, and it was honestly disappointing to see such a great layout in poor shape. Fast forward to yesterday, and it’s a totally different story. The greens were in **fantastic shape**—smooth, consistent, rolling around a 9 and a real pleasure to putt on. The fairways were solid, tee boxes were neatly kept, and the bunkers were well-raked and in great condition, though still a little short on…

The course itself is beautiful and the condition was very good too. Greens are in great shape, but bunkers don't have much sand. The groupings were scheduled terribly, however. Made me play the back 9 first, took 2.5 hrs to complete the back 9, then there was 3 groups waiting on the 1st tee. Didn't even bother trying to play the front 9, it would have been at least 3 more hours. Pace of play needs to be addressed. 4 hours or so should be the standard for a round of golf.
