In summary

The UNF Golf Complex at the Hayt Learning Center is appreciated for its friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and affordability, particularly for beginners and students. The facility offers a well-laid-out driving range with both covered and uncovered areas, and recent improvements have enhanced the overall experience. However, some visitors express concerns about the condition of the 9-hole course, noting issues with greens and tee boxes, as well as increased pricing for certain amenities.

Every single tee box is destroyed or covered in sand. Every green is patchy, rocky, and borderline unplayable. 2 stars because I want to have hope it will get better but charging full price while the course looks like this is unforgivable. Do better.

As a first-time golfer, stepping onto the grounds of the UNF Golf Complex was an initially intimidating experience. Despite being a novice, the welcoming atmosphere made me feel at ease and ready to get my Tiger Woods on. 🙃 There was an older senior female there (we cannot remember her name) handling the register and she was very kind and quite witty. lol The facility has a nice layout with players of all skill levels and all were so willing to offer their expertise to improve my game. We hit balls at the driving range which provided ample space to practice swings with both covered and uncove…

Good practice facility for beginners and students, and even the public. $11 for a small bucket and $15 for a large bucket of range balls. I enjoyed the covered area when it was raining

This place offers a great opportunity to hit balls under a covered area, protecting from the sun and rain. However, it's a bit pricey for students. It's not ideal for night practice, as it closes relatively early. Despite that, it's a solid option for Jacksonville until a dedicated night driving range becomes available.

Went today for the first time since playing the old 4 hole course in college. Range is mats only, 9 hole course is in shambles and that’s putting it nicely. Grass was barely existent, greens were mostly dirt, and tee boxes were make-shift- whenever they could fit them. Not one golf ball washer and only saw one trash can on the course. Everywhere was dirty, beer cans all over the place. This place isn’t kept up and it’s sad to see what it’s come to from what it was. Definitely not worth the price IMO, you can play $9 holes better almost anywhere in Jax for this price.

This is a great place with a terrific driving range. Fun place to work on your shots. They are making tons of improvements so it will only get better. Easy to get to too.

Great driving range. They offer military discount, so 2 large bucket of balls were about $25. One of the coaches, Dan, gave us tips and pointers and showed us how to improve our swing. I'm going back to play their Par 3 nine hole course soon.

Course in decent shape. Nice greens. Very short holes. Longer walks between 2 and 3 and after 9. Great value and nice people. See photos from today.

Course is in much better shape than it ever has been. The artificial greens will be removed and replaced with USGA spec tifeagle greens over the winter and I'm excited for it

Putting surface has gotten SO MUCH BETTER! I can tell they really put time into the course recently. It is actually puttable and rolling.

For me a lot of life is about expectations. This is a beginner course aimed at honing your skills and for a relaxed approach. Granted some conditions could be improved and I hope some more attention is paid to the little things. But for a lazy afternoon working on your golf game with a brew and getting some walking exercise it’s not too shabby! Lighted driving range is also a nice plus.

Who is ruining this place? Used to be the place to go. No more chipping range. Mats have no tee holder or hole for a tee holder. Makes it a driver less range. Not surprised it’s been dead every time I go this past year. I was ok with the price increase but take away those things and what’s the point of going. Ide rather make the trip to palm valley road
