In summary

Vulcan Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its well-maintained course and unique layout, featuring a mix of older and newer designs, which many find enjoyable and worth the visit. The staff generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness, and the amenities, including the restaurant, are well-regarded. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with customer service, citing issues such as slow pace of play, unprofessional management, and inadequate handling of tee time bookings and equipment rentals.

Great little course! Older front nine but the back nine is worth the drive out!! It’s a great layout and fun to play!! Green fees are worth it to come out!

Enjoy the course golfed 6 times this year. Recent horrible experience where when we got to the 10th multiple new groups were starting and had to wait 1/2 hr. Put us into men’s league and the players had no etiquette and hit balls at us and told us it’s best if we leave. Emailed the manager and no response was given. League player obviously are there priority

If you are visiting and do not have clubs, do not go here. I rented a set that costed $30 and they wouldn’t give me wedges with it despite me asking, so I was unable to chip the entire round. What’s worse, my friend is left handed and was planning to share a set with his brother, and they forced him to rent. Now I understand that many courses do that, but they did not have a set of men’s clubs for him to use, so they made him rent ladies or he wasn’t allowed to play. The lady working the front desk was rude about them asking for an exception due to the course not having the right clubs. All in…

The fact this whole town has taken on he "Star Trek Vulcan" image is awesome!! The course is a nice mix of 'old small town Alberta' and new Les Furber design gave this track 2 completely different 9s. Having played many small town courses the front 9 is very typical of this type of course with old growth trees and smaller greens. The back 9 is very typical of most Furber designs with wide fairways, large greens and large bunkers. Very forgiving. The staff was friendly and the food was good. If I had one complaint it would be that they do not sell their tee box markers which are amazing. I w…

Had phoned and booked teetime at 7: 54. Drove from langdon. Upon arrival were informed that they had a tournament and no one should have booked times. We had to be past hole 10 in 1hr 10 min. Might get 15 holes in. No one called to inform us! Never offered apology or reduced rate! Was going to charge full rate so we left without hitting a ball. Very Unprofessional!!!

I just read another review and it all makes sense now. This course states beginner friendly. We were harassed off the course by unfriendly golfers in front of us and behind us. My party of 3 included my parents and myself, we only had 2 people on the cart at all times, yet a staff member came to us and stated there was multiple complaints that we had 3 people on our cart. I’m guessing this was made up or people didn’t want to wait for us to golf as we were just beginners. I guess we just couldn’t enjoy our day of golfing, we were going to eat here but forget that i definitely don’t feel comfor…

Great little restaurant with really good food and service. Back again. Still good food and service. Friendly and helpful staff. Only issue is that we sat outside and eventually had a bunch of golfers sit beside us in the no smoking area. Started smoking, three of them, sitting right under and beside the no smoking signs in the gazebo. Went and sat inside, because of the smoke and wind, mentioned the subject/issue to an employee, no response at all. But still a good visit all in all.

The course states that they are beginner friendly. Although my group was harassed off the course on our first hole by unfriendly staff. Yelling at us for not being pros. Do not bring you family or friends here if they are not pro golfers. How are you supposed to learn to golf when beginner friendly courses are harassing paying customers. ☹️

Average condition course. However, if you take advantage of the rate specials this course gives you great value for what you pay. This course has a decent variety of holes considering what you pay. Full price makes it hard to recommend this course but if you get a special golf rate then it is a recommend.

What a great course! The pace was relaxed and pleasant, and the grounds were very well kept. Even the tees are shaped like the Starship Enterprise - so cute! We had a great time and will definitely go back!

Nice prairie course. Front nine Is dead unfortunately. As in the greens look like a dog run. The back nine are much different and nice. We played in 3 hours and 15 minutes. The course Marshall spoke to us, to tell us to speed up. We would have finished in 3 hours if we weren’t waiting at the tees. Unbelievable. I’ve played golf in Alberta for 30 years. First and last time playing here. Back To D’Arcy Or turner valley for us.

Loved it here. It was pretty slow but eventually we were invited to play through. The front 9 was older, well treed while the back 9 is newer with homes instead of trees! Will golf here again!
