In summary

Walnut Lane Golf Club is praised for its recent improvements, including well-maintained greens and a new clubhouse with added amenities such as a restaurant and training facilities. The course offers a challenging yet accessible layout, particularly appealing to newer players and those seeking affordable golf in the city. While some areas, like tee boxes and parking, could use further enhancement, the staff is generally regarded as friendly and helpful, contributing to an overall positive experience. There are occasional concerns about communication and course management, particularly regarding incident handling and pace of play.

To clarify, my 3 stars are not intended to knock this course down. There are absolutely good things about it. Rates are fair for what you're getting. I appreciate that there are accessible and affordable courses like this where newer players won't feel intimidated to come out and play. It's a course in the city with no par 5s. Some chainlink fences will wrap around the playing area. Some of the tee boxes and fairways were in dire shape. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the greens! It appears they're putting a lot of care into them. I'm optimistic that they'll continue to make improvemen…

After more than 15 years away from Walnut Lane Golf Club, I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements. I had attempted to play late last year but decided against waiting due to frost. Finally getting back out on the course, I noticed several positive changes. While the parking lot remains the same, the pro shop building is completely new. The addition of a small but inviting restaurant and bar adds to the experience, and the pro shop offers a solid selection of gear. There are also dedicated spaces for training facilities or meetings, which is a nice touch. The golf carts are well maintain…

Haven’t played the course yet. However just got done a hour lesson with Kyle Spaulding and if I could rate the lesson 10 stars, I would. Kyle was super knowledgeable and took the time to see where I was at with my game, and what it was I was looking to work on. He was able to articulate his advice very well, which helped me absorb the pointers he was giving me. Would definitely recommend a lesson with Kyle to anyone looking and will definitely be back!

Been playing Walnut Lane the past 10 year and has always remained one of my favorites in the Philly area. If you are going in expecting a country club level course, this place isn't for you. If you are looking for a cheaper, accessible, and laidback course Walnut Lane is perfect. Greens and fairways are always in good condition, tee boxes could use some work but its whatever, again not a country club. Great bang for your buck for some casual golf.

I recommend listening to the more recent posts that talk about how it's being improved here. Sure, it had its distressed areas, but you can tell they're doing great work on the place. Most of the greens and tee boxes were in very good shape, and even most of the fairways were well watered and mowed. Yes, if you shank one into the fringe area, its going to be a bare lie, and the traps won't be like a white sand beach, but only the most expensive courses can keep up with that anyway. It was just over $50 with cart on a Sunday, pace was good, and if you play from the blues, its just like playing…

Haven't been here for a couple of years. Wowzers. Lots of improvements! Some tough (long) par 3's. Had a blast. Paired with some locals and had a super fun round. Kind of blew our minds when the ranger came by and asked us to pick up the pace. We were behind a group right off of the first tee up until he asked us to pick up the pace. How could we possibly pick up the pace when there is a group in front of us? We only had two holes left by then anyway, so I just left shaking my head. We weren't easter egg hunting or anything. Still bewildered by that one. We are all pretty good hitters too.

This golf course is very small and nestled on the top hill of Manayunk. It has mostly par threes and is kept in good shape go in the morning or late in the evening to avoid lines and you don’t have to worry about paying too much this golf course is not very expensive. I think you’ll really enjoy it. I hope you enjoy my reviews of all these amazing places.

I’d give this place zero stars if I could. A golfer hit my boyfriend’s car and damaged the windshield on 4/11/2026. He went to the main office and informed the person at the front desk of the incident. He was then told to file an incident report with the club and the club manager would call him back on Monday 4/13. No call came. My boyfriend called back and emailed and still nothing. Today he called the club office again and got a hold of someone and was told for the first time that apparently in the state of Pennsylvania the golfer is responsible for the damage. They need to do better at keep…

Course was in decent shape for January golf. Some greens are pretty chopped up and browned while others are covered over by tarp entirely. Overall a solid track for improving the approach shots and accuracy (just a par 62 total). Great to see what they are doing for first tee of Philly as well! Good course for all handicaps and golfers of all levels to enjoy the game.

Great clubhouse, ok practice area unless you want to hit wedges (they will go over the net) and the course is exactly what you would expect.

The new Clubhouse is beyond wonderful. Love the services and features and personnel. The personnel is pleasant, accommodating and efficient. A five-star combination. The course is in great shape. Love that "The First Tee" program is there for our young ones. Good on 'ya, Walnut Lane Golf Course and City of Philadelphia.
