In summary

Wawona Golf Course offers a unique golfing experience with its beautiful setting in Yosemite National Park and historical significance, appealing to those who appreciate a scenic and relaxed outing. The course layout is challenging, and the staff is noted for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the course's maintenance, particularly the condition of the greens and fairways, which can impact play quality.

This course is seriously fun. It's clearly well cared for and maintained. The fairways are tight, the rough is super thick, there are a few hazards, and the greens are tiny so it presents a good challenge to a variety of skill levels. Greens run fair and consistent from hole to hole. You'll probably see a coyote, too. The Golf Shop across the street has everything you need - rental clubs, balls, carts, tees, snacks, and more. If you golf at all, you have to make time to check it out when visiting Yosemite.

Absolutely amazing experience. To play golf in a national park on such a beautiful course is an absolute blessing and dream. Greens were in great shape what an amazing and fun course.

Legendary course in the national park system and Sierra Neveadas. I used to play this course a lot in the 90s when I worked a summer in Yosemite. It isn't as well kept as then but still nice experience. Recently played this 28 yrs later. More appreciation should be given to this treasure by Wawona and Yosemite Conservatory...it's only been around since 1917 and holds lots of stories. The employee that works at the golf shop was very helpful, enthusiastic and offered historical tidbits on the course. Worth commending on his great attitude and service to all customers.

This was the worst-tended golf course I've ever played on. Just go hiking instead! The greens were patchy and horrible, my backyard has better grass than the fairways and their sand traps are more like crude, hard sandboxes. Dead grass patches scattered here and there can be mistaken for sand traps. The only redeeming aspect of this course right now is the Yosemite ntl park scenery, and it is a real shame that their course is so poorly tended. This is a really bad golf course in a beautiful natural park. This national park is better known for its hiking trails than its golf.

Great experience if you don't go expecting a formal golf course. They have renovated the greens since most of these reviews were posted, but everything else is just mowed meadow grass. Staff was super friendly. He warned me that it was not your average golf course and he gave me a free round for buying a bunch of souvenirs. I loved the old rickety periscope on the uphill hole!

One of the two golf courses inside a national park in USA! 101 years old surrounded by plenty of history and the birth of America's best idea was born not far from it!

This is a nicely designed 9-hole layout but the greens are very long and shaggy. I doubt they have a mower that can cut greens short. I played in early October just a few weeks before they closed for the Winter. From the teeboxes to the green was a nice surprise, as this has some challenging hole layouts. But the greens are pretty much fairway-grass height, so i quickly realized I wasn't going to make any putt over 2-3 feet. Maybe in the Summer with drier conditions the greens might run a little faster. The website contains outdated info, incorrectly stating they only had 7 playable holes (the…

Pretty awful experience. I played 4 holes before I went back to the clubhouse to ask for a refund. The entire course was in terrible condition. The greens had holes in them, so it didn’t matter how well you hit the ball. Allan from the golf store was super nice and apologetic, but it took about 30 minutes to do a refund. When it came time to do the refund, it took 5 people and multiple phone calls to managers. Definitely don’t come here until the course is actually fixed and up to a nice standard.

Decently challenging 9 Hole course. +5 Stars for the setting, scenery and the fact you are in Yosemite. -4 Stars for the horrible condition of the greens and fairways. If you are looking for a chill outing and don't really care if a 1 put turns into 3 because of the terrible condition of the green, then this is a good spot.

We've spent 7 out of the last ,9 years there. Rooms are comfortable and we like the Washburn Veranda accommodations best. Disappointed on the name change as the Wawona Hotel is considered an historical site. Don't care much for the way they new people running it. The light breakfast has always been included with the cost of the room. We went to breakfast our first morning and we're told that as of yesterday that is no longer the case. I'd prefer to order off the menu, but I'd like the choice. Coffee was out every morning we went down. Being told it just ran out, or they're bringing a new pot n…

Course is closed until further notice. Minus 5 stars for that, but the reason is it is used to support the fires. Plus 5 stars for that, but minus 4 stars again for not hearing any helicopters.
