Avila Beach Golf Resort is praised for its beautiful setting, offering stunning views of the ocean and surrounding hills, and is a popular venue for concerts and events. However, many visitors express concerns about the golf course's maintenance, noting issues with fairways, greens, and cart paths. Wow! Did I stumble into a gem 💎, absolutely beautiful place with comfortable seating with great views of the ocean, hills and the golf course 😀. The only issue is the very long line for the bar.

I was disappointed from the first shot to the last. No fairway/rough definition- mostly rough height. So many weeds- clover and white puffy shit, that it was hard to find your ball in what should be fairway. The greens were pretty ok, but very soft & wet (rain lately). There is some character to the course and some holes that should be really good, but hard to get past the conditions. The owner really needs to sell this place and let someone make it a real course. I was happy to get an 11am tee time with cart, for only $27. Wasn't worth it.

Wow this spot used to be amazing. Not anymore. Got a bucket of balls to go check it out, will not be back. Mats not level, are old and have holes. Balls were very old and well used; and crazy dirty. The range has a sign that it’s the overflow parking for the concerts and events they have there. If the course is anything like the range no thank you, go somewhere else for a good course. See photos! Although, going to Mulligans and having a drink near the beach is pretty rad. I’ll have to do a second review for Mulligans and the other areas of this place that are good.

Came to play 18 with some friends, drove 2 1/2 hrs from Visalia and it was the best decision we made. I really enjoyed the canyons that surrounded us and then hole 10 had the view of the beach. We will definitely come back. Well I made it back today 5/17/2025, this time I had a bacon breakfast burrito from Mulligans bar and grill and it was delicious. Weather was great. Only thing I would change is the cart paths and trails are horrible, they really need to be updated very uncomfortable cart ride. But I will do it again, I'll just stay off the paths.

I have been here for a concert on a Sunday afternoon which was awesome! There is a beautiful view from the lawn of the bay. I have also ridden my bicycle there for coffee. Again, a view of the bay. The staff is always friendly, grounds are immaculate kept. I don’t golf, but I have cousins that love the course. Whether you need a coffee in the morning, lunch with a view without the crowd in downtown Avila Beach, a cocktail - you will definitely enjoy the view. Highly recommend.

This course has such a great feel, beautiful layout. Sadly, the place gets little investment. The cart paths are very rough slowing down the round. Fairways need covered in topsoil then totally rototilled under. Greens are better but still in need of upgrades. Sand traps are a mess. The hotels , resorts are getting hurt. They should all kick in some money. You've got to spend money to make money.

We LOVE this venue! Anytime theres any artists we even remotely want to see we try and go. I recommend buying th balcony seats if you can. The extra money gets you your own access to a bar and bathrooms and no blocked views and good view of the beach behind the stage and nice breeze!

We noticed a significant change in the Avila Beach Golf Course, once known as one of the most beautiful and unique courses on the Central Coast. The first 9 holes were muddy, and the fairways were overrun with weeds and high grass, leading to our cart getting stuck in the mud multiple times. The back 9 was dry and had somewhat better fairways. On the 18th hole, we had a gallery of people watching us tee off, which was an interesting experience amidst the challenges of the day.

Place has a lot of potential, has gone downhill in quality a lot, a large portion of the greens are messed up in terms of quality. Some have craters, others look like a minefield. The fairways need major work, mainly more water, it's a dry cow pasture out there. People drive up to the greens here and worsen the conditions. A lot of people don't fix their ball marks

Course restroom facilities are poorly maintained along with a high majority of cart paths. Food and beverages are great. The back nine are great home to play. Lack of TLC is a major issue.

Fairways were in poor shape. Sand traps are being redone. Cart paths were unusable. Got a discount coupon but have l played a lot better courses for the $. I suggest going to Black Lakes, Hunter Ranch or Monarch Dunes if golfing in this area. Much better condition for the money.
