In summary

Babe Zaharias Golf Course is appreciated for its challenging layout and friendly staff, with some visitors enjoying the affordable pricing and community atmosphere. However, many reviews highlight issues with course conditions, particularly the greens, tee boxes, and fairways, which some find in poor shape. While some patrons enjoy the food and amenities, others express dissatisfaction with the overall maintenance and value for the price.

The course is currently taking on redoing all the greens, so the hole location is a little off and not on the best grass conditions. Overall, the course has some pretty challenging holes, with some water that is pretty tricky not to lose a few balls in. It's a great time for beginners and we had a blast because the prices are a lot cheaper because of the renovations. Only like $28 which you can't plan anywhere close to that in Tampa. It really has a hometown, community feel, and the guys in the pro shop are super nice. Definitely a great way to spend an afternoon on a golf course and get some…

Another beautiful day at the Babe Zaharia Golf Course. Perfect weather with blue sky, sunshine and fresh air. Spring has come early with nice, green and great shape for golfers. Staffs were very nice and friendly. They always have some special price for golfers and classes. The golf club also offers several food and drinks with affordable price but very tasty. My favorite was special burger and fries, so delicious, I couldn’t find anywhere else has these crunchy fries. I also love the chicken wings, so good. Every Wednesday night and Friday they have special price, I believe $4-5 for burger an…

Fun little municipal course. Greens don’t look good, but they are smooth and FAST. Did I mention fast? We played a lot of high-end courses on our trip, no place was faster than the Babe. Cool holes. Really a lot of character for a city course. Pace of play was excellent for a Thursday afternoon. I imagine it’s busier on weekends, but we got 36 holes in 6 hours. That’s an excellent pace. We took carts, but this course would be a nice walk. I really enjoyed it. Take a trip to the Babe if you want to test yourself on almost tour-speed greens. You’d better have steady hands. :) I’ll certainly…

Good course. In decent shape. The greens are always in good shape. Tee boxes and rough are not as good. It's short but will give a challenge.

Course has good layout but the teeboxs and fairways are basically dirt mounds with patches of grass. Greens were super firm but slow but overall greens are in good condition. Pace of play was great but it is hard to get your way around when it’s hard to hit out of the fairways.

The staff in the pro shop and the restaurant could not have been nicer. They were very polite and helpful. That is where the positive comments end. The course was a disaster. The greens were dead and very slow. If you didn’t hit the fairway the ball was probably lost in tall crab grass. If you did hit the fairway there is a good chance there would not be any grass under your ball. My wife and I will never play there again. It is too bad because the layout of the course is very nice but the conditions were very bad.

Hmmm. So many bad reviews. I also have my opinion. There's NO driving range. Seriously. Why not? With all these mediocre reviews, maybe someone needs to re plan this course. Maybe build a welcoming driving range with fans and sun coverage, chip and putt area and maybe some outdoor dining and adult beverage. Take some ques. We need change.

Lots of challenging holes due to some interesting hazards. Greens were very puttable despite some rough patches this time of year. Top marks for available cold water to drink in three locations on course, and new, electric carts. Would recommend for the cost.

Paid $55 for tee boxes that were either covered in weeds or a sand pit, fairways that had more sand traps than the actual bunkers and greens that looked like they let cows graze on them. The only saving grace was getting a dog at the turn but that wasn’t even done right. The chick was inside in the corner with her laptop and had zero hot dogs ready to go for golfers. This course should have been no more than $20 for the conditions and experience.

My husband and his friends enjoyed golfing at the Babe! The food at the causal dining area is also very good. The Cuban sandwich was delish and everything tasted very fresh.

Front nine greens are little rough. Back nine greens are good overall course is in great shape. Pleasant and friendly staff. Pricing is awesome $10 for burgers and fries ! Burgers are freshly made not frozen. Ask about rewards card it's worth it. I got mine
