In summary

Barefoot Resort and Golf is praised for its beautifully designed courses by renowned architects, with many visitors enjoying the unique challenges and scenic layouts. The staff generally receives positive feedback for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the overall amenities contribute to a pleasant experience. However, some guests express concerns about the high cost, slow pace of play, and occasional maintenance issues, suggesting that certain aspects do not always meet the expectations set by the resort's premium pricing.

Disappointed is an understatement!!! The rates that are being charged to play this course are absolutely ridiculous! The course was in horrible shape almost no grass in the fairways. The greens were OK but not anything to justify the price that is being charged. I played these courses two years ago and they were fantastic. It is really a shame how far they have let these golf courses slide in the last two years, please save your money and do not play this course. There’s much better courses for half the rate in the grand strand. I forgot to mention the shuttle that brings you to and from the d…

Four well groomed and designed golf courses. Great main clubhouse and practice green. The driving range could have used some sod work, but overall well done. The Dye course has its own clubhouse and range...and that course is like playing on Mars with volcano type sand traps and waste areas everywhere. Staff was great at all locations.

What a course/beach! The Norman course was the most challenging course I’ve ever played. Very well maintained, in good shape, and tons of fun. The par 3s were extremely scenic. Some of the holes have absurdly sized sand traps that take up the whole fairway!

Barefoot Resort & Golf in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, features top-tier golf courses designed by renowned architects such as Pete Dye, Tom Fazio, Davis Love III, and Greg Norman. Although the Norman course is picturesque, it doesn't quite match the spectacular nature of the others. The Fazio course stands out for its beauty and challenge, offering plenty of water hazards, sand traps, and "waste areas" of hard-packed sand. Our personal favorite was the Love course, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, despite being the most difficult of the four. Adding to its charm, holes 3-7 feature r…

I had high expectations for Barefoot Resorts, but the experience fell well short, especially given the $250 per round price tag. Day one on the Love Course set the tone: a 5 hour and 40 minute round, which is simply unacceptable. Tee times are spaced just 8 minutes apart, and the result is predictable, constant backups, with three groups stacked on every tee box. There was no pace control whatsoever, and the marshals did nothing to address it. Course conditions were another letdown. Tee boxes were chewed up, fairways looked burnt out, and while the greens were decent, they weren’t nearly goo…

Norman course, eh. Nothing really memorable. Ranger was not nice as we were on pace and kept pushing us. It did not make for an enjoyable experience. We played 18, cart path only for a few holes (5holes), first time playing the course in 4.15 hours. We didn't hold anyone up as we were told to hurry, hurry hurry. No one waited on us. As I said, nothing memorable for the course. Hoping for better tomorrow. Ranger was very rude, as he spent more time talking and taking time from hitting shots (talking as I was teeing off, out of the cart and on the tee) about picking up the pace.

Was in Myrtle for a few days mid November. Played 4 courses, this place was the most expensive, and the worst experience. For almost a $180 round I expected better. The pace of play was atrocious literally right at the first hole, it was apparent they had let too many people out. It continued the entire round, to a point where we didn’t even get to finish the last 2 holes. We started right around noon and should have had plenty of day light to play. We were made to feel like it was the golfers fault on the course when in reality there was nowhere to go. By the time we finished the pro shop was…

Stayed and played with a package last week March 20-25th. This review is mainly about golf, the accommodations were great. All four courses were in great shape... absolutely perfect Condition. Pace of play was good while courses were not too busy. Played 36 every day except for rained out Thursday and didn't have problem scheduling a reasonable priced replay round. Guys in pro shop were outstanding and should be commended for their customer service. Starters, Rangers, beverage cart girls, and bag drop staff were all great and deserve recognition as well. Shuttle driver was amazing, as he helpe…

Played the Fazio course. Very challenging and well maintained. Should be a 4.5 as greens were excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of sand. I would recommend but be sure to play the proper tees, some of the par 4's on the front are exceedingly long for us very average distance drivers.

Great golf spot. Place runs like a golf machine. We played all 4 courses. Each offered their own unique challenges, but overall forgiving. The breakfast buffet is horrible.... avoid getting as part of a golf package. Lunch was really good. Each day, we had drinks and lunch, after the first round, sitting on the large deck. Would definitely rebook a golf package with Barefoot.

Barefoot Resort & Golf offers four championship courses designed by Pete Dye, Greg Norman, Davis Love, and Tom Fazio. After playing all four, the Dye Course is by far the best as you would expect from Pete Dye. It presents the most challenging and intimidating shots compared to the other three. All the greens are fast and small, so deadly accuracy with irons is required. If I had to rank the four courses, the list would be Dye, Norman, Fazio, and Love. Holes 10 and 11 at Norman are brilliant design along with 10 and 18 at Dye. Overall, the play package is definitely worth it.

$164 dollars to play on 2/21 and the whole experience was just flat bad. Regardless of the rain, the staff was highly unprofessional. From the pushy (unprofessional) photographer, the starter and whoever was in charge that decided to shut down the clubhouse and pro shop from any purchases or access to bathrooms due to the rain was just not golf etiquette for the $$ we paid (there was a total of 8 of us from Charlotte). We never received any notification from the clubhouse for the early closing. Would not recommend this course for any golfers out of town.
