In summary

Battle Creek Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful course layout, well-maintained greens, and friendly, helpful staff. Many golfers appreciate the challenging yet accessible nature of the course, along with the reasonable rates and amenities like GPS-equipped carts. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as drainage problems and divot repair, as well as occasional difficulties for single players in booking tee times.

The grounds crew at this golf course is not good. Not only is the course continuously in bad shape but they drive all over the course right down the fairway while you’re playing teeing off on the T boxes and bunch of them just drive-b y m and don’t stop. There are two and 3 foot holes In the ground on a lot of of the holes. Used to be a really good course but the grounds crew they got running now makes it not a good place to play.

Positives of this course are decent fairway grass, wide fairways and pleasant staff. Pretty layout. They allow walking. They shouldn't hype their greens on their website. It is within a housing development so even though the fairways are wide, on windy days you likely will put a ball or two in people's yards.. Some green to tee distances are a hike. I saw the review that complained that they had aerated the greens and charged him to play. Since it was a full month after the aeration, and the last day they were offering the aeration discount, I made a tee time for a couple hours after my plan…

Greens 'could' be amazing however it appears none of the regulars are interested in fixing their divots. I still like the greens but if they get control of the divot issue, they could be really good. Rough is cut way too high and thatch is everywhere. losing your ball in the rough 10 ft off the fairway is no fun. If these issues are fixed the course is otherwise great!

Greens were pretty rough and had alot of drainage and standing water issues. It was cart path only. Clubhouse is nice. I was more Interested in the residential landscape than playing golf.

The course is great, however they do nothing for the casual single player. Always say they are booked, don’t take single reservation (understandable). But do not even attempt to fill in a single even though there are groups on the first tee with only a twosome or threesome. I’ve tried on several occasions and have always been turned away. Never again.

Course was in great shape. GPS in the carts was off by at least 20 yards all day. Need to Update their pin positions.

Great course! Challenging without feeling overwhelming to the average golfer. Greens were in great condition for this time of year. Friendly staff and reasonable rates.

Played in a tournament up here. I hadn’t been on BattleCreek before. The conditions of the course were as good as any public course I’ve played this year. Greens were about perfect. Second cuts of rough kept it challenging. I hope to be back soon.

Course layout is fantastic. Changes made in past few years have degraded quality of experience especially the newly added mud traps on nearly every hole. Over or poor watering have caused pooling in low areas on nearly every hole. I look at them as added challenge but it gets tiring being stuck in one 7 or 8 holes a round. #8 especially has one in middle of fairway nearly 50 feet square AND mud traps on both front edges of green. I'll play elsewhere as first choice even though I live close by course.

Excellent location for a bus stop. These reviews are for the Golf course but the golf course provides my kid a safe school bus zone too
