In summary

Bearbrook Golf Club is appreciated for its affordability and forgiving layout, making it a suitable choice for casual and beginner golfers. The greens are generally well-maintained, though fairways and tee boxes receive mixed reviews, with some areas needing more attention. Common criticisms include slow pace of play due to overbooking, inconsistent course conditions, and customer service that could be improved, particularly regarding staff interactions and management.

To say the least, our experience was far from pleasant. While the greens were nice, the fairways were practically nonexistent, and the course was bogged down by murky, water-logged areas —making it difficult to play at times. To make matters worse, we had an unpleasant encounter with the marshal. He possessed a rude and snobby attitude for what could have simply been a quick exchange. We encountered other golfers who also made snarky comments. I can go further in detail but I think this sums up the point. Not for beginners.

If a dive bar was a golf course, this will be it. Greens were incredible and the rest is what you pay for. 3 stars mostly due to no rough, and no fairways, not their fault the fairways/ rough isnt getting the water it needs. This course is perfect for mid to high handicappers and /or affordable round just to get out there. Other reviews mentioned unfriendly staff. They are just understaffed. Just be patient with the guy and you will be fine.

The course itself is great — well-kept, enjoyable to play, and worth the green fee. However, I feel it’s important to point out that the manager, an older gentleman, seems to completely lack basic social skills. He’s curt, unwelcoming, and leaves you with the impression that customer service is the very last thing on his mind. If you’re coming here, don’t expect warmth or friendliness at the front. You’re really just here for the golf, not the service. It’s a shame, because with someone more personable managing the place, the overall experience could be so much better. As it stands, you get w…

4 stars for layout 2-3 for conditions 4-5 for value (if you walk) The design of this course is fun. It's not too long to punish the average golfer, and has a nice variety of 'fun to play' holes. There are a couple of plain-jane stinkers, but overall an enjoyable track. Greens are generally ok. Fairways and tee boxes are a mixed bag -- some are good, some are goat track. But the price is good for the layout +/- conditions (walk if you are able). Bonus is that you can almost always get a last minute tee time.

I love this golf course, it's one of the most affordable options around the area and the course is well maintained. It's also pretty forgiving, which helps me give myself the illusion that I'm a good golf player. I'm definitely considering getting a membership next year.

A friend and I tried to play golf here on a holiday Monday. It was very overbooked. We had been waiting 20 mins past our initial tee off time and still hadn’t tee’d off. The pace of play was also incredibly slow because of the over booking. Every hole took about 25 minutes because we were forced to wait to tee off. The conditions were ok. I would give the course another shot, but not on a weekend or holiday.

Course is nice for the price. Could use a bit more TLC. Their cart rules in regards to single player is not fair. Staff is slow in responding to requests. Needs more help at counter. Played there on Tuesday August 19th. Very slow pace. 4 1/2 hrs for 18 holes. Played there again on Friday the 22nd. Wow, completely overbooked 5 hrs and 15 min for 18 holes. What a joke. I know you need to make money, but at this rate I will not be returning. Not worth the wait.

In a last minute to golf the night before, Bearbrook had some available tee times. Despite the dry summer the course was green but with some dry patches on a few fairways. Green fees are reasonable but the power carts are pricey, however, I'm not an owner and I'm sure they have to make up for the loss during the extreme heat. Staff was accommodating and polite. I don't mind the fairways being a bit hard (like the bounce & extra yards) but tee boxes and greens should be the greenest.

Played a round last Friday, pleasant staff and pace of play wasn't bad ... 3:40 for 18. Greens and tee boxes were in decent shape given the lack of rain. Fairways were hard but better than several other courses in the area. Front nine pretty forgiving, back shorter but technical. Will return

Don’t play here. Unless you like playing 9 holes for 4 hours because they like to have 4 groups on 1 hole. Be prepared to lose your ball just because the grass is not cut. Worst golf course in the ottawa region. $60 per person including cart is still not worth it for this course. Spend a bit more and go anywhere else.

I'll start by saying staff are nice and always willing to help with anything asked. Good corse for a beginner. Corse needs some love but can be overlooked.
