In summary

Big Oaks Golf Course, now known as Tupelo National, is frequently praised for its beautiful and well-maintained course, complete with scenic views, GPS-equipped carts, and a friendly, accommodating staff. The course layout is appreciated for its openness and challenging hazards, offering a great experience for golfers of various skill levels. However, some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the strict dress code policy, especially regarding access to the driving range, and have noted occasional maintenance issues with waterlogged areas and sand bunkers after heavy rain.

Came to the course with my boyfriend to hit some balls and was denied at purchase because he was wearing a tee shirt and some nice kaki shorts. Staff was rude. He was unaware that he had to be in game ready attire, just to practice for a few minutes.. Maybe if they let folks that are wearing nice casual wear pay for range practice, they wouldn’t have to charge so much everywhere else like the green fee and membership..

The greens were punched about a month ago; otherwise the course was in great shape. The course is a bit short, but has beautiful views and plays very open. Carts have GPS for yardage, USB, and comfy seats.

Mike Mayhew (sp) was absolutely amazing. We drove 2+ hours in a rain storm to get here. When the rain subsided he let us play even though the course was closed. Also, the course is absolutely amazing.

Visited while traveling for work and I loved it so much I came two days in a row. The course was absolutely beautiful and kept in perfect condition. The general manager, Mike, and his staff were all very nice, helpful, and kept everything running smoothly. Overall amazing experience and I will definitely be coming back next time I travel to Tupelo for work.

Nice course. Lots of water hazards! Carts were clean and had GPS, with Bluetooth capability so you can stream music. But the rain came 2 days ago and there were several spots that were flooded, including most of the sand traps. Cart path only. Clubhouse didn’t have any food, except hotdogs. Ball washers and drinking water containers were dry. Restrooms on the course were pretty rough too. And the range was closed. I expected better maintenance from a National course.

Wander experience; fairways were great, green fast but true, Sand bunkers were playable and yardage gps was on the money

By far the best golf course in the area, not even close. People whining about price and dress code are probably used to playing at shobby courses with tee boxes that look like the surface of Mars while wearing a tank top and jeans and dragging cigarettes and throwing them in the fairways. This place has a higher standard, and the price reflects that. Their greens are consistent, fairways are in good shape, the rough is playable, and the holes have hazards that make the game fun, rather than annoying. You can actually *play* out of the bunkers on a dry day, which you can’t do really at any othe…

Beautiful course! Went last week for the first time since the change of ownership and renaming to Tupelo National. Still the same beautiful course. They were having some irrigation issues the day we were there but not an issue to us at all. Overall great course and nice driving range with practice putting and chipping holes.
