Birchbank Golf Course

Been golfing here for about 2 months as me and my pals have just started playing. Thought it’s time for a review! Twilight rate is usually what we do so the round isn’t too warm or cold. 5-5:30 is prime imo. $25 to walk, free complementary, walking carts. Birchbank is well maintained, the power carts are also nice quality. Blair & Ashlyn (sorry If I spelled wrong!) are always super nice and friendly. Golf range has plenty of hitting boxes and is even better when hitting off the grass. You pay for the basket in the pro shop from the guy with an attitude or the other nicer staff and then scoop your own balls at the ball trough outside. The practice bunker and green at the far end of the range are great for working on the short game. We have played this course at various times of the year from opening to end of season. Great course, start to finish. Wildlife, views and some fun challenging holes. Only complaint is the restaurant being closed wayyy to early after finishing a round at 430.

The driving range was nice and well kept and a great place to get back after a few years away from golfing. The Bistro, however, was a wonderful experience. The new chef, George, has done a great job and his food is well prepared and delicious. I had the salmon burger special and would highly recommend it. The drinks as well added a perfect touch to a nice hot afternoon - the best part of my Caesar was that there was no fancy gimmick or strange additions. Just simple and delicious. Awesome course! Very well maintained, gorgeous views, great for beginners and seasoned golfers alike.

We have tried to eat here multiple times. We have checked social media for times they are open and never see anything posted. They close to public on special events but don’t post anywhere about being closed and keep the “everyone welcome” bistro sign out front still on those days. Calling ahead is a good idea if you can reach anyone, seems there’s no bistro direct line though and at times front desk doesn’t know what’s going on, or don’t answer. Would be better if they posted on their social media “closed for private event today” so humans don’t drive out for lunch to be turned away. Will…

Very nice course in great condition! Friendly staff in the Pro Shop!

Used our coupon book to try the restaurant out. Very reasonable prices. We just missed happy hour prices from 3 to 5. Those prices looked real good. Very nice inside dining with full bar but still casual. Out on the deck there was a great view. Lots of parking. Just a few minutes from Trail on the highwsy to castlegar.

Would not shoot this course again. 92 degrees, no water on course, nobody showed up until 8:30 for restaurant, was told the members don't spend enough money so they don't open early anymore. Wanted full price for a 2nd round....local golfers were very nice, clubhouse pretty money hungry, not friendly for tourism....no women's golfer wear with logos. Pretty sad.

Driving range has grass, love it. Super friendly staff.
