Its open and wide. Staff was ok. Bathrooms were clean. Porta potties were clean. The clubhouse smells like old deep fryer. I felt like the marshal was on us a lot. I've been golfing for 9 years all over ontario and carribean and never seen a marshal this much. We golfed on a long weekend so we were waiting at every hole. Some scenery was breathtaking and then others seemed used. Pin placement was mean a lot lol. I would actually give it a 3.5. But I definitely will not pass this course up. Its a long walk so ide recommend a cart.

Booked a tee time for 8:20 on Tuesday. They decided to move us without a call(on Friday) since we booked online and called to confirm? Whatever apparent you have to call to book this place they won’t call you to tell you a tee time had been changed. Tee time is for Sunday. We want to add a third to our time. Call to add for 8:20, since that was our original time, but they gave that tee slot to a 3 some and knocked us to 8:28 with another 2 some to max revenue. Do with this as you will. I’ve played blackhorse 20+ times the course is amazing the people and clubhouse/accomidations you expect aren…

Doug, I want to share my disappointment with how my recent event I hosted at your golf course was handled. While we had been excited to host our group there, the experience fell well short of expectations in a way that left many of us frustrated and upset. I for one drove home upset by your actions. Specifically, your decision not to provide meals for four members of our group based on assumptions you made. It was an unnecessary move to make especially considering the fact that we had already spent over $6,000 in green fees alone, in addition to a substantial amount on food and beverages thr…

Still a great course. However management must have changed in the last year. Pro shop staff are unfriendly and un accomadating if you need to change your tee time

Course is in great shape greens are very nice, tee blocks are top notch as well. Good distance challenge for any golfer and food is also really good. I would say it's time for a clubhouse upgrade but I understand it's probably not cheap. If they had a new clubhouse built, this would be the best course within 100 km radius. Would have no issue getting high praise. Thanks for the round folks.

I will not return to black horse. As consistent with other comments, the staff at the course are not welcoming and often abrasive and rude to customers and each other. I recently attended a group golfing event that brought 50+ customers to the course on a slow fall day, and we were greeted with hostility from the minute we arrived even though we were bring in thousands of dollars.

We were a part of a groupof 70 or more people. My group finished within the last groups. My Group had 2 golfers that are noviceo golfers, and when we returned we were greatreated to to "your group took too long, so you must have played additional holes" which was not the case. So the hamburgers in which we had paid for, did not get honored. Needless to say this was not the experience we had paid for, nor was it the experience we expected. What a disgrace of management. Would not recommend. 0/10 stars if I could.

The owner of Black Horse keeps the course in pristine condition. As a high handicapper it is a challenging course, but a beautiful one. If you like a good walk this is your course, or rent a cart to save your energy for your golf strokes. John in the clubhouse is always a pleasure to deal with and provides top notch customer service. Highly recommend playing a round here!

This course is absolutely beautiful, one of the best courses in Grey Bruce Counties, it is definitely in the top five courses in the area. Course quality is amazing, it’s also quite challenging as a course as well which makes for a great outing. Only area for improvement would be the clubhouse but I’m sure that will come to match this gorgeous venue.

First time playing here in late July. The course was in very good shape despite the lack of rain recently. It's fairly challenging for a high handicapper, however, thoroughly enjoyable. The greens were reasonably fast and the bunkers were in pretty good shape despite comments I've seen in past reviews. The staff made a noticeable effort to encourage proper pace. I look forward to playing at Black Horse again!
