Black Rock Golf Course is frequently praised for its scenic setting, well-maintained fairways, and diverse, challenging layout, offering a great golfing experience with beautiful views. The staff is generally regarded as friendly, and the on-site amenities, including a grill, enhance the visit. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play, occasional unfriendly staff interactions, and concerns about the condition of the greens, as well as accessibility for those with disabilities.

We had a fantastic experience at Black Rock. The course itself was very nice and incredibly well kept, making for a scenic and enjoyable round of golf. The addition of a grill on-site was a huge plus—there were plenty of choices on the menu, and the food was excellent. My one suggestion for improvement would be to add a hot roller to their setup; it took quite a while to get a couple of hot dogs, and that’s one item that really should be ready to go. Overall, though, this course is great, and I look forward to returning.

Awesome layout tucked away in between near the Catoctins. I found myself pausing to appreciate the mountains. Many elevated tee boxes offering spectacular views of your drives. Open fairways & few places to lose a ball besides water. Greens are OK, but roll true. I scored well even missing some fairways. Highly recommend it for all golfers.

Course was in great shape .. snack bar ladies were great..check in was a breeze..only complaint was pace of play. Had two 3somes in front of us and when we got out of range of the clubhouse, they grouped up. No on course ranger broke them up or even talked to them. Took us 5 hours to ride 18 and we had 2 groups with us on every teebox. Very congested. There was another group we saw with 4 carts as well. Maybe they were short staffed. Who knows. Other than that it was a great round.

Layout still okay, but they seemingly have forgotten how to mow greens. Slowest greens I have EVER played. Greens used to be the highlight of the course but no longer.

Nice course. Wide open holes not on top of each other. Not an easy walk. Great views. Greens run true. Lots of water hazards but they are fun. Lots of ducks and geese.

Had a great time golfing there. The fairways are tight so if you hook them alot, take plenty of golf balls

Me and my buddies have been playing Black Rock for a long time. Great Golf Course for the money and very well taken care of. All ways a Great time. Until yesterday, I've been pretty sick lately but am able to get a Blue Flag witch allows me access so I can get closer to the T box's and Greens as well as my ball. I am on Oxygen so this is a huge help for me. Yesterday I was told by "Bob" who said he was the head of grounds that I had to stay 20 yards away from T Box's and Greens or he was going to show me the door.. It has left a real bad taste in my mouth. So it's a month later and now I thin…
