In summary

Briggs Woods Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained and challenging 18-hole layout, with a particularly demanding back nine that requires accuracy. Many visitors appreciate the friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and amenities like GPS-equipped carts. However, some criticisms include issues with staff training and communication, as well as occasional course maintenance concerns such as overgrown areas and litter.

Love the course. One of the better courses in Iowa when it comes to 'bang-for-your-buck'.

Fun course. It had rained so plenty of standing water. Well maintained. Nice fairways. Cold beers. Back nine is swampy, narrow fairways. Challenging and fun. Take your DEET

My favorite course. Great front 9 lined with trees, but wide fairways. Back 9 requires more accuracy with full trees on both sides that will eat up inaccurate shots. Beautiful Briggs Woods area! Highly recommend.

We really like this course. Back nine is very tight. Nice and long. Played the whites.

Great course, I think the grounds keeper lost the tree trimmer since the day it was designed, need to trim some branches back! Don't think the original design called for that many overgrown fairways and tee boxes. But was in good shape and played nice greens were smooth. Better than last round, some trees were trimmed by mother nature? Opened up so paths for ball flights. Yay

Come down every year for a weekend. Fantastic 18 hole course. Back 9 is quite the challenge with some water amd tighter fairways. Great food, excellent service.

I was in the area to attend a memorial service for my mother-in-law.l, who passed on Christmas Day in 2022. I stayed at a hotel 2 miles away and went to Briggs Woods as a single on Saturday morning, hoping to get paired up. The pro shop was staffed by two very young women, one of whom was in training. I golfer in front of me identified himself as a single with no tee time. He was told by one of the women he'd need to wait 1.5 hours to play. Realizing I would suffer the same fate, I asked if I could hit a bucket of balls on the range. The veteran employee said emphatically that it would be impo…

Planned an early day trip to golf this course was one of the few listed as open with tee times and when I show up the course is fully covered in snow. I along with my friend who drove separately wasted plenty of money in gas and the refund took two weeks to get settled through GolfNow. Terrible experience and should be held accountable considering multiple people wasted their time and money in gas. Someone needs to catch that it’s a bad way to do business would not recommend coming here.

Good value. Pretty course. Freindly staff. However, there was a fair amount of trash, wrappers, beer cans, plastic pop bottles, etc all along the paths just into the woods. The members here must take absolutely no pride in their course.

A little over an hour north of the Des Moines metro area. Worth the drive as it is a nice 18 hole course, reasonable price and friendly staff. Would drive up again to golf there.

Fantastic 18 hole public course! Everything was manicured well, and the staff were friendly! The course was in great shape for how dry it has been.
