In summary

Calderone Farms Golf Club is highly praised for its excellent course conditions, featuring fast and true greens, well-maintained fairways, and a distinctive layout that combines links-style and northern Michigan elements. Visitors appreciate the friendly and competent staff, as well as the great value for the quality of the course, with many considering it a hidden gem in Southern Michigan. While the overall experience is positive, some golfers have noted that the pace of play can be slow due to long rough and blind shots.

Calderone is one of the best values in Southern Michigan. The $40 twilight rate is a steal for the quality. Fast, smooth greens, well-kept fairways, and solid pace of play. The elevation changes give the course real character. Steep slopes lead to tough lies and some wild bounces, but it makes the round more fun and memorable. Calderone could easily charge $100 or close to it. Definitely worth the trip for me. 5/5.

Read it, roll it and hole it. Greens run fast and true. Fairway is in great shape. Longish grass, sand traps and waters will eat your balls if your not careful. Some might call this course a hidden gem, but trust me this gem isn’t hiding, unless it’s hiding in plain sight. My only advice would be don’t miss it! Unless you don’t like golf, then skip it.

Links style on the front, up-north feel on the back. Some blind shots will keep you on your toes. A great value for the quality of course. Staff is friendly and competent. A well-maintained track. I recommend it

Wonderful layout in pristine conditions! C Drove 40 miles to play and can't wait to come back and play it again. Great rates!

Absolutely beauty, we got out first and it was pretty stunning with the sunrise and almost full moon. Fair, challenging, pure. Best greens we've played on this year. Fast and firm. Only thing was that we were running into the maintenance crew on almost every green lol, well worth the trip from wherever you're coming from

What an amazing golf course. Beautiful views, challenging holes, interesting green complexes. If you are a golf lover, this must be the best value for your money in the area. Such a lovely variety in the types of holes.

Calderone is a great public golf course located right of I-94 in Jackson County. Although the course is visible from the expressway, you only hear the noise of traffic and see the cars on the 2nd hole. The course conditions are always good. I played three times this year and didn’t have a bad experience with conditions or anything regarding my round. They run outings well and the annual Gobbler gets some of the best golfers in the area to compete for a pretty good prize pool. Greens run good and true but not particularly fast. Course is a links(ish) style course with some northern Michigan v…

Definitely worth the drive to this golf course. Very playable, greens and fairways were in great shape. Very fair price as well. A must stop in lower Michigan.

Course conditions and price point are amazing. Only issue is the pace of play here is closer to five hours. I think tee times need to be closer to 10-12 minutes. People are often looking for their ball due to long rough and fescue. Plus there are at least 6-8 blind tee shots which further delays the round. Course is spectacular. Updating bunkers which was needed. Love the course just need to solve the pace of play issue. Green fantastic. Fairways fantastic.

Played the course in late August of 2025. A very enjoyable course to play in excellent condition. Fairways are very nice, greens are fast with a true roll. Front nine links type course with back nine through the woods. Good practice facility. For the price this is a true gem.

The golf course is great, but this review is about the pro who gives lessons there -- Steve Saary. I am an "elder" golfer who used to play pretty decent golf, but recently struggled with my swing. I took a lesson from Steve the other day and cannot say enough good things about him, his expertise, his patience, and his teaching approach. His analysis of the problems I had encountered in my swing was spot-on and he had me back on the right path before the end of the lesson. It was so good, I signed up for his package of 5 lessons at a remarkably reasonable price. Another important thing that bec…
