In summary

Callaway Gardens Golf Club is appreciated for its beautiful scenery and challenging course layouts, particularly the Mountain View course, which some find in excellent condition. The staff is often noted for being friendly and accommodating. However, there are frequent complaints about the poor condition of the greens and fairways on both courses, with some visitors expressing disappointment over maintenance issues and the overall value for the price.

We had a fantastic experience at Callaway Gardens Golf Course, playing the Mountain View course. The course was in great shape and offered beautiful scenery throughout the round. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, getting us out on the course smoothly and right on time. A special shout-out to Charlie, the Head of Golf, who was extremely accommodating and made a point to welcome us back. Excellent service , great golf, and a place we’ll definitely return to. detailed?

I really want to give it a one buts not quite that bad. On the other hand I really do want to support the place but in the two years I've been playing here just about weekly the condition is just going downhill. The greens or horrible and don't roll well at all. The can't control the poanna grass or whatever it is and the greens just suck, on both courses. The fairways aren't much better, the mow them so frikkin low you're hitting off hardpan 80% of the time. It's a shame because both courses have great layouts and are very challenging. The greens are protected heavily by bunkers, an no they a…

We explored the butterfly exhibit, the azalea garden, discovery center and Cason’s garden. Cason garden had entertainment and food stands. I had a wonderful time and wish I had came earlier in the day. Beautiful scenery, Lots of trails and outdoors to explore. I don’t golf so not sure about that. Definitely a good place to explore if you like to hike trails and see beautiful flowers and nature. *also the nachos they sold were delicious 🤤

Read the last review and had the opposite experience. Played both courses. First played Lakeview course because it was the one open on Tuesday. Started off ok, on the first few holes but , by the time we had gotten across the street ALL the holes by the big flagpole and all around the lake (by the boathouse) it was like playing in a pasture! The fairway was as long as the rough, which was anywhere from 4 to 6 inches long (if not longer). A couple Tee boxes were just carved out of the long grass at the beginning of the fairway. I really started getting upset when I started loosing balls IN THE…

This course was AMAZING! I loved it!! I enjoyed every minute of it. So beautiful, and worth every penny. I only give it four stars, as it’s definitely not as good or well kept as some of the top courses in the world, but still probably one of the most beautiful in the country. I only played the Lakeview course. I didn’t get a chance to play the Mountain course.

We made a tee time for the Mountain View course. They failed to tell us the front 9 was closed. We just wanted to play the back 9 once. They don't have a 9 hole rate, charged us for 18 anyway. The course is in really run down shape. The greens shouldn't even be called greens, they are the worst we've ever seen. Their restaurant/bar is very tiny, has 3 tv's which none of them work so watching golf isn't an option here. Needless to say we wouldn't recommend playing here until they do a complete renovation.

I've played here a couple of times over the years and have never had a bad time. Though this is not my favorite course, I will return. The mountain view course has a couple of mud puddles on the fairway around the fourth or fifth holes. Some of the trees need to be limbed up on the back nine. The lake view course has more pathways and water obstacles however less sand traps!

Aug 2025 - I wish I could rate the Lakeview Course higher, but it was struggling during my visit. First, as a single, it was easy to walk in without a reservation and be joined to an existing group. However, I found it odd that I was given a group to join (an hour after I arrived) but went to the first tee 20 min early and they joined me with another single sandwiched between foursomes on either side. Were they going to let a single go out by themself? The pro shop is very neat and well stocked and looked like what you would expect of a resort course. The electric carts had good power, the dri…

I would love to give a different review but you can't charge the money to play and the Greens are in that bad of shape. Most of the Greens are muddy not sprayed and have weed growing through them. The ball wouldn't roll two foot without turning. You can't see the Greens from the Fairway due to the brown color. It was a VGA Tournament so we didn't pay a full rate but I was not pleased with the course management. This is too nice of a place to let it go like this.. Shame on the Greens keeper for this trash!! The course should be closed down for repairs asap!!

0 star for the mountain view course What trashy course to play for $89 or 55 as military. For having the Buick open there last in 03 you would think they would maintain the history of it. Straight trash. You can go play bull creek or oxbow in columbus for cheaper and have better kept greens. Also the bathrooms in the club house trash toilets are backed up nothing was sanitary.
