Chardonnay Golf Club & Vineyards

We absolutely love this wedding venue and have the honor of photographing and videoing lots of weddings here every year. Can't wait to be back, this is an excellent choice if you're a couple looking for a beautiful wedding venue. The staff here is all so kind and on top of it, and obviously very passionate about their couples. Special shoutout to Ruva, but they're all amazing.

Biggest plus to this course is the views you get from many of the holes. The fairways and greens were in decent shape. The bunkers were just dirt and not manicured at all. I saw many bags with SFO luggage tags, if you’re playing golf on vacation, go next door to Eagle Vines. You can clearly see the difference from your views at Chardonnay. This was my first, and likely last, time playing here. I don’t regret playing here, but for the green fees, and seeing the conditions at Eagle Vines, I’m not sure I would go back.

Played Chardonnay for the first time this last Sunday and it was truly terrible. Very disappointing because I had heard good things about it, the layout is interesting, and the setting is nice, but almost everything was bad from the time we checked in and I will probably never play it again unless someone I know tells me it has seriously improved. We checked in for our round at about 8 and was told that they didn’t have any range balls to sell. No range balls available for the morning rounds at all. The setting is beautiful, no doubt. Greens were sanded heavily. Hard to putt. Some greens had tire tracks in greens. Proshop person didn't know there were bathrooms on the course. No bag drop assistance, carts are ancient. Might have been better on a nice day. Snack bar/bar server was very good.

This golf course nestled in Napa Valley offers a delightful blend of challenge and beauty. The course is well-kept, with varied fairways and thoughtfully positioned bunkers that create an engaging round for players of all skill levels. While the layout may present some difficulty for first-time players, it’s an excellent choice for those seeking a memorable game amid breathtaking scenery.

As a course in the vineyard, Chardonnay does her job well. Take good advantage of the vineyard landscape, some holes are rather challenging, like Hole 7, certainly one of most difficult Par 5 ever, need to watch out the ditch in front of the green. The green of Hole 8 is whole another story, it's long and "slopey", and the course even set the flag at the turn of slope, surely full of fun. Comparing to Wente (another vineyard course at South Bay), Chardonnay is not that delicate, as some holes are not that "vineyard ", if you know what I'm talking about, but certainly worth playing here.

Playing here again after a long absence. The landscape & topology of the area contribute to a fun, challenging and attractive course (semiprivate). One of the more notable features are the extra large greens that allow so many different pin placements and forcing u to carefully select the right club (don't forget to factor in the wind, today it was upto 2 clubs) The fairway conditions are better than many public courses but still u will still see occasional browned out bare patches. One of the great public course values on planet earth. Golf in the vineyards at a challenging course for a very affordable rate. I think weekday mornings might be $60 with a cart or so. The course is challenging. Vineyards everywhere requires accuracy off the tee. The greens are funny shapes and not easily approached. Once you’re on them they’re sloped and fastish for a public course. They take some getting used to. One of the only courses in the USA featuring 6 each of Par 3s, 4s and 5s. How fun is that? Chardonnay Golf Course is a beautiful track, with lots of wildlife, stunning views, and tough holes. I play here at least once a week. This course has gotten better over the last year, with lots of work to still to be done, mainly with bunkers and tee boxes. I go here because it is less crowded and have had only positive experiences with Grant, Evan, and the rest of the folks running the shop.

First class experience and beautiful course, weaves throughout the vineyard. Very challenging, some of the greens were very tough to read, I loved it! 👍. My only beef was they were very strict about certain things and were quick to scold you about it, not to help but to enforce. This was my first time playing this course, but that was the only negative for me.

Course is surpringly in poor shape. Looks like it is going to close. Carts broken. Dirt spots. So sad. Don't waste your money

I’ve been playing Chardonnay (and neighboring Eagle Vines) for years, off and on, because I live about a half hour away. Last time I came to play we had to stop after playing 9 because they had the worse post-aeration conditions I’ve ever seen… the greens were like putting in bunkers they had so much sand on them. And the prices weren’t adjusted for the conditions, which were essentially unplayable. Flash forward to August 2025 and we just gave it another try.
