What People Say

In summary

Cherokee Trails Golf Course is appreciated for its scenic setting, well-maintained greens, and friendly staff, making it a favorite for many players. The course offers a good challenge, especially for beginners, and is considered a hidden gem with reasonable fees. However, some visitors have noted issues with course management, including unclear directions, slow pace of play due to large groups, and difficulty reaching staff by phone.

Have you ever thought to yourself man I think we need to go to a golf course that is managed like a failed bar where the owner lets all his friends drink for free? Then look no further because Cherokee Trails is the spot for you. A golf course where their “off duty” “course marshals” harass patrons so that they can do whatever they want on the course with their buddies. A course where your tee time means absolutely nothing because ooops they stacked the tee boxes four groups deep. This golf course is going to charge you a rate like a middling 18 hole course even though it’s only a 9 hole cours…

Beautiful golf course, but it really would’ve benefited from a map. It was our first time and it wasn’t always clear which green lined up with the tee box or which direction to go for the next hole. Also, some of the holes were on such a precarious part of the green, if you missed the put, it would roll off into the rough every time; not fun. But it was the lack of clearly marked directions/a map is what made the day so frustrating.

Good difficulty for a true beginner. Dead spots on greens make putting a luck-mixed skill. Be careful of the golf gangs. Easily recognizable by their own own carts and speed at which they play. They will pass you.

Frosted Tips was back in action today, course management remains poor. Having a working phone would save people a lot of time instead of driving half an hour and getting yelled at by Frosted Tips “Closed, closed, tournament”. Well let’s get the phone working soon FT!

This is an amazing 9 hole course. This course will test all of your skill and when you play good at this course, you can go play anywhere and you should score good. The fee to play 9 or 18 is very reasonable and the staff is wonderful. I recommend this course to be played by everyone, you will enjoy it.

Nice little corse. Cheap to play. They need marshal on weekends to speed play up. They allow more than five to tee off at times. Would not suggest playing this course unless you have a lot of time on weekends.

Course is in decent shape, greens are fast and smaller than most courses. The practice facilities are pretty nice, large putting practice green, decent distance chipping green, open driving range. New clubhouse and carts are a plus as well!

I enjoy the golf course but I've been trying to reach them for several days about the cost of a yearly membership and nobody will answer the phone

It is beautiful and serene. The greens are getting better and very challenging. Playing here makes a better player IMO.

Terrible experience. Large group of 25-30 with 5-7 people per hole were allowed to scramble and jump in front of twosomes/foursomes already on the course. This was a Tuesday morning, I can only imagine the chaos on a weekend. 👎🏻

My favorite course to play. I love how well the greens are maintained and the staff is friendly. Great for an executive course.
