In summary

Cottonwood Golf Club, now known as Desoto Country Club, receives praise for its friendly and welcoming staff, affordable pricing, and ongoing improvements under new ownership. Many visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the course layout, though some note that the fairways and greens are still undergoing maintenance and improvement. A few guests have expressed concerns about course management and inconsistent course conditions, but overall, the club is seen as a good value and an enjoyable place for both beginners and experienced golfers.

Fairways are atleast 3 inches tall on all holes rude club house worker/owner who ever it was. Called seeing if they had a bag that was empty someone could use for there clubs ended up charging me to buy it told me next time I’m late for a tee time I didn’t even set up that he would just give it to someone else would not recommend.

I encourage people not to get discouraged about some of these old reviews. I recently joined as a member, and from the beginning of the year, I can tell you up front that the owners and crew have been working very hard to bring this course back to respectability. They have got the greens open, no more temporary greens, and the fairways are filling in. This doesn't happen overnight, but in the last 6 months, I can tell you first hand that it has been improving. Before you throw stones, please come see for yourself, play nine. I personally would love to see and challenge some companies in the ar…

Friendly down to earth kind of place. Certainly not an uppity country club, but friendly folks. I met Mike the owner/manager, let him know I am looking for a club to join. He invited me to play, I joined up with Ryan, berry and George who are members. I had a good time with working class folks. There are temporary greens while they regrow and improve but I appreciate they will be better soon. Dave

Fore the price of $22.00 for 9 holes with a cart, you can't beat it. The greens are coming back, which is good. The fairways are good. The location for me is nice if I want to get a quick 9 holes in.

I am a member and enjoy playing here. Best cost for membership to be found including cart. Owners are very nice and doing their best to rebuild this beautiful course. Greens are still closed as they are giving them time to fill in. Beautiful fairways and like layout. Come support your local golf club as they rebuild and save money as you do.

The greens were actually in pretty good shape. The fairways were pretty rough, like the needed to water them more. The biggest issue is management. I went with a group of six, all of which are of a low skill set. On the last hole we were told we take to long. We we told we should only be taking one shot off the tee box. They complained that we were all over the course looking for our balls. Of course we were there was SIX OF US. All with low skill set. We allowed the two other groups to play through us, so we didn’t hold anyone up. At the time of the complaint there was literally no one else o…

One of my favorite places to golf. Yeah the course might not be PGA worthy, but is still a challenging course to play on. I love playing here because everyone in the clubhouse makes you feel welcomed. I would recommend this course to anyone looking to learn golf for the first time. Along with anyone who wants to have fun without paying a crazy amount to play.

This is the worst golf course in Missouri and probably the United States. The course is in the worst shape from the tee boxes to the greens. The greens are so bad you can not even putt. They have crab grass on the greens so bad you can not even tell it is a green. I called to set a tee time, drove there and the doors were locked. The manager came up gave me a key to the cart and said he was going out on the course to play with his friends. I was not allowed to go inside to buy drinks for the round but yet he had a beer in his hands and was wearing a cut off muscle shirt. They just need to clos…

personally I like the course, it's not overly uppity, but really enjoyable. it really is a quaint, inexpensive, no nonsense place to play a decent round. it's recently changed ownership and the new guys are striving to make it even better. if you haven't played the course give it the time of day and I think you will enjoy the day.

It’s a 9 hole course. Took my grandson who is getting better than me. But that’s a short road to travel. They’ve done some work in the last couple of years to make it a better course.
