Del Monte Golf Course

I stayed here for a work conference. So my stay should have been taken care of for work. Unfortunately, a coworker and I had to use our personal cards for the first night because we didn't know there was an additional verification form needed. The rooms were nice and they offered complimentary s'mores. However, ther was an interesting crowd hanging about in the middle of the day, for all 3 days we stayed. Greens are pure, and the tee boxes are well manicured. Bunkers are the same quality as Pebble Beach (part of Pebble Beach Company). No driving range, but they recently added hitting nets. Large putting green and small chipping area. There's a well-stocked beverage and snack cart that drives around the course every day. Sufficient water and bathrooms on the course. Small restaurant on site. Staff are all friendly and professional. Duke's Club membership is a good deal, especially for military.

Coming from the Central Valley, it was a great experience playing on the coast. The fairways were lush and the greens were challenging. The design of this course doesn’t bring you back to the clubhouse after 9 holes like most courses. They have a cart roaming around with food onboard, but if you want something she doesn’t have, the order must go through her (that’s what I was told) so just plan for that.

Easy on fairways but tough on greens, is what I will summarize my playing at Del Monte. It's really a nice course, the fairways and greens are all well maintained, one thing is that their greens are all slopes, so you either putt incline or decline, need to be very accurate on the speed, otherwise you will easily get 3 putts.

It’s much cheaper than the main pebble beach course but of-course much more straightforward and easier. It was damp and the ball didn’t roll so wasn’t able to get good distance. We rented clubs from them. Overall very scenic Mountain Views. Staff are very friendly especially Donn who took care of us. It was approx 100 per head for twilight hour starting at 3.30pm that included green fees, cart and rental clubs. Balls you have to buy from the shop. The great thing about this course is its history.

I played this course back in the 80’s and had good memories of my time so long ago and retuning all these years later it was nice to see my memories of this course were still true. It’s a well maintained and beautiful course in the heart of Monterey. The course is moderately challenging with really speedy greens, as many reviews have mentioned. The staff was friendly and efficient and the pace of play was great for us with a 2:00 tee time on a Tuesday. I look forward to returning again and I won’t wait so long this time…

Nicely maintained. Located close to freeway, easy to find. Nice fairways with tall rough. Not too difficult if you keep on the short grass. Greens can be tricky to read, pay attention to your competitors! Nice pro shop and cafe. A few tricky tee shots but overall a good place to try

So pure. I played it when I was young and it's on another echelon of great, now. Must play. Cool hotel too.

Rough was so deep you couldn’t find balls. Many temporary tee boxes. The proshop and staff were nice.

Love this place. I little nod to the old school. Fairly narrow off the tee, plenty of healthy rough, well placed bunkers, and small sloping greens all point back to the way courses used to be designed. Still challenging but in a different way.

Played here for the first time. Great place, staff was great and super friendly. Tee box check in person was awesome. He asked for my receipt I told him it's in my push cart which was a little bit away. I walked over to get it and he followed me so i didn't have to walk back, I guess I just notice the little things. Conditions were great. Tee box and fairways we're really well kept. We found a killer deal $43 walking on a weekday so my buddy took the day off to play. We had amazing weather 66 degree Sunny and no wind. For the price we paid it was awesome.

Del Monte was great. They have it in tournament shape and it was beautiful and we'll worth the trip. I would recommend this time of year. The staff was very helpful and their pro shop was top notch. Best course I've played
